Do you honestly believe that John Kerry dwelling on 35yrs ago will have any effect on Bush's campaign?
Do you think that the average American will be swayed by the details of where he was at?
Whats more interesting for the media to cover:
1) Kerry's msg?
2) CBS scandal?
Which one has recieved more coverage? and which is more impacting on the public?
Who are the secret sources CBS recieved those memos from?
IF and when they put up the details on who gave those "suspected" memos then we can have a clear idea on who is behind this.
I mean CBS should know better than that. They are squirming like a dieing fish and the more time goes by on the sources /authencity of the memos, the more one begins to believe this was a partisan attack.
Quite frankly, GORE banged Bush's past service to death in the last election....the people know Bush's faults....WHO CARES?
They need to know who KERRY is.....oh well let the ship keep sinking. |
.. but hey, yet you still call the Media liberal right?? .. Sometimes I get the feeling that, what your trying to say is that no matter what the truth is, people will just suck up whatever false statements come out against Kerry, either from the 527's and Bush.. I don't know, is just that impresion. |

CBS reporting BS without verifying documents on NATIONAL PUBLIC TELEVISION is a bit worse than having a lean right Cable news network. |

Im talking about how you mention on who has received more coverage, and the impact on the people.. or, which news have gotten more negative coverage on that matter, not about CBS specifically. |

Oh yea you're right. I retract from those statements....the true demons are coming out though from CBS though:cool:
I highly commend ABC NEWS.
THE ENTIRE MEDIA better watch itself especially with a congressional investigation already being planned for CBS.
But I really dont get it why would CBS would run the program when document experts warned them about doubts. "IF" the source was rightwinged=====WOULD CBS would run it solely based on Right Wing Source Trust?
"IF" they are proven to be forged and "IF" CBS retracts from the story....I can only wonder how much chaos will occur as to where they recieved them from. |

Congressional investigation? Haven't heard this one, though I wouldn't dismiss it. You have a source?
I agree that CBS should be held to public scrutiny here. They have an obligation to demonstrate the veracity of these documents, and that includes the unfortunate possibility of exposing their source if necessary. Simply stating that "we stand by our source" simply doesn't cut it anymore with the speed of present-day technological communication abilities that can quickly support or shoot down claims, as well as spread speculation and innuendo (unfortunately). It was erroneous of them to claim that they could verify anything on merely copies of the documents, and I personally fault them for that.
But again, this whole story regarding Bush's past cannot be dismissed based on these documents. You asked me earlier if I want to focus on this type of stuff. Well if you've read any of my posts, I've stated ad nauseum that this whole past crap is ridiculous to focus on for very long FOR BOTH CANDIDATES. But I do see a reckless pattern here from the mainstream media, as well as a serious bias on covering the smear of one candidate's past a helluva lot more than the other candidate. Could it be chalked up to the fact that Kerry made it part of his campaign? Sure, maybe a little, but I cannot chalk it up entirely to that, and it would be shortsighted to do so.
What's also clear here is that in comparing the two past records, at worst you have Kerry being a weenie and wanting to avoid confrontation, even though he went to the war and fought for his country, versus the possibility that our President went AWOL and broke military law and/or the military was willingly covering up for Bush.
The latter tends to disturb me a great deal more than the former. |

CBS has just responded by implying that the documents maybe fake....but the secretary of the man who "wrote" them believes the content is right....
So CBS is putting up their entire validity and the story on this man's secretary!???
LOL WOW THESE guys are diggin their grave deeper and deeper. |

This is the **Kerry Killer**
bye bye Kerry
I can't believe how far the Kerry Campaing is going to try to win - as far as forging documents. While Pres. Bush isn't a saint, Kerry is the Devil.

Unfortunately, you seem to be one of the few on here that actually uses their brain for it's intended purpose - rational thought.

The silver lining in regards to this debacle of an administration is that even if Bush does get reelected it will only be for another four years (unless he pulls some martial law bull, which IS possible.)
On a sadder note, in four more years you will probably still be just as ignorant and as ideologically subservient as you are today. |
