i create an .m3u file in winamp, save it in the folder with the tunes, and like 3 months later when i come back to it and click it, the songs show up, but none play and as each song gets highlighed in an endless circle.
why does this happen?
only thing i can think of, but i'm prolly wrong, is that i've changed the HDD drive letter....

if its says c:\crap\music\Ownage.mp3 that is the wrong format.
it should read Ownage.mp3 only. |

| If your playlist is in the same directory as the mp3 than the .m3u should just contain the filename without the complete path. |

is there a way to check this? when i create my own playlist, all the tunes are always in thes same folder as the .m3u file. i open winamp, drop the tunes in the window, and save the .m3u to the Desktop, then drag and drop it into the folder. easier than finding that folder to save it to.

ok so i found the problem after i opened in notepad. i removed the junk and the .m3u file works like a charm.
how do i make sure this doesnt happen in the future when creating .m3u files the way i do??? i mean some of the ones i've created have this problem, and some don't at all, yet, i've created the .m3u file the same way every time.
thanks for the help for far!

If you save in the directory where the files are, pathnames are not included.
If you don't, pathnames are needed for the playlist to work. |
