Making a hard style bassline
View this Thread in Original format
Helius
Hello!!

I want to make a hard style bass like in some cool italian hard style tracks but I can't make it working :(

I use Reason 2.5 but any ideas for other devices are welcome.

I give you an example: sample.mp3

Thanks!

The sample is from "Hardheadz - Hardhouz Generation"

Some other sample songs could be "Hunter - Follow the Mc", "Tatanka & Peter Damir - Kick It Hard", "Tuneboy - Dirty", etc.

Can any body help me with this bass sounds??

Put some distortion on your ordinary bass and a bit longer attack, and you'll be pretty close to that example.

reverse a distorted bassdrum and you have it:

:haha:
O, yes... That problem keeps on showing up when producing electronic music. When I use the pitch on those hardstyle basses, it all colaps!
That results in the typical sounds when you only use software. If you really want good bass, it's important to have the latest synthesizers.
But why are they sooo damn expensive (and don't get started about softsynths, I used them once and they use a lot of your CPU-usage  ) Gotta make money:crazy:

Yup that's a good way to do a hard bassline... take a kick, reverse it, distored, eq it ( so it won't phase ), filter it and compress it to death...

then you have the hardstyle bassline :)
