no. not at all. if architects were that qualified then we wouldnt need civil engineers would we?
go on. ask colonel all about them before you give undue respect to that profession. either way, theyre certainly not qualified to calculate the reasons for collapse. |

| Oh no, architect only design those structures to meet specific requirements. Wow, just wow. Your reasoning is more ridiculous than I thought lol. |

an architect's central role is the manager of the real experts, the structural and mechanical engineers. architects do not possess the same knowledge of mathematics and physical sciences. its as simple as that. they do not have the expertise.
and youre LOLing at my "reasoning"??? that's pretty funny given your tribute thread to that CT nutcase a few threads down :p |

And physicist have far more knowledge or mathematics and physical science than engineers btw ;). I don't know how familiar you are with engineering and natural sciences, but engineering is stupid grunt work. They're not exactly the brightest people. Not that I'm saying there aren't any, what I'm saying is engineering requires far less intelligence and a lot more redundant, repetitive, boring, and laborious number chrunching and routine.

Ah yes, the "nut case." I find it rather disgusting that some people would on a simple thread dedicated to his memory as he recently passed away. I'm not necessarily lumping you in that bunch, but don't you think that's rather low and pathetic? |

yes, but they're have specific limitations. buildings falling down are certainly outside the expertise of a physicist!

but theyre still the only ones that are qualified in this context!

i dont believe in avoiding a topic simply because someone has died. i dont think we owe the dead anything at all, i judge someone by their life's deeds. im not about to gloss over someone who isnt with us any more. if trancer hadn't posted that video i wouldnt have posted at all, but the vid was so bad it just forced me back in ;)
so no, i dont think its pathetic. anymore than you would think it was pathetic if people criticised bush after the fact ;) |

As much as I despise Bush, I wouldn't go pissing on his grave at his funeral. |

have you ever seen what people learn in a school of architecture?
its a glorified art degree..... they draw lots of abstract shaped buildings, and make nice scale models..... they are concept people. In fact, if it weren't for architects, we wouldn't need civil engineers. if it were up to us, we would have designed one structure and just replicated it everywhere. architects come up with all sorts of messed up forms and shapes of buildings that require engineers to figure out how to make them not collapse.....
the only thing an architect is qualified to comment on is how ugly a building looks. |

Both of my parents are architects. I'm not exactly ignorant about what they do for a living. |

Sibel Edmonds, a former FBI wiretap translator, fluent in English, Turkish, Farsi and Azerbaijani and with top-secret security clearance, told Salon news publication that she is nothing but outraged: "Especially after reading Condoleezza Rice where she said, 'we had no specific information whatsoever of domestic threat or that they might use airplanes'. That's an outrageous lie. And documents can prove it's a lie." Edmonds wants the commission to ask real questions to FBI director Robert Mueller when he testifies later this month: "Like, in April 2001, did an FBI field office receive legitimate information indicating the use of airplanes for an attack on major cities? And is it true that through an FBI informant, who'd been used [by the bureau] for 10 years, did you get information about specific terrorist plans and specific cells in this country? He couldn't say no." Edmonds' recent interviews also raise the fascinating possibility that al-Qaeda penetrated internal security both at the Pentagon and at the State Department. In this case, are the moles still in place?

This documentary reveals how a foreign spy ring with links to Al-Qaeda has been discovered working within the FBI. Sibel Edmonds began work at the FBI translating wire taps in an investigation into a foreign spy ring operating in the US. She became suspicious of her colleagues after discovering some mistranslations and was then invited to join the spy ring which had evidently infiltrated the FBI itself. She went straight to her bosses and rather than being hailed as a hero she was promptly sacked. After going public on 60 Minutes she has been officially gagged.
Out of love for her newly-adopted country, Sibel Edmonds agreed to join the FBI as a translator in the wake of 9/11. But her world gets turned upside-down when Sibel reports wrongdoings to her supervisors: one of her colleagues from the Translation Unit is secretly working for the same Turkish officials who are "targetted" by the top-secret FBI investigations that Sibel is working on. As a "reward" for her whistle-blowing, Sibel is fired from the FBI. Today, she is fighting for the very ideals that American democracy relies on, and is facing, against overwhelming odds, some of the most reckless and powerful officials in the U.S. government.
Sibel has granted a film crew full and exclusive access to document her story, and her struggle, as we zero in on her "secret."
KILL THE MESSENGER (UNE FEMME A ABATTRE) is a true spy story about the only American citizen who dared stand up to the FBI in an attempt to expose the truth on some specific yet hidden aspects of today’s War on Terror and give the American people the protection and security the U.S. government has failed to provide.
