A book just came out about the Bush Dinasty. Has anyone heard it ??
Today morning, as I was driving to work, besides getting stuck in traffic, I took a listen to the Diane Rhem Show on NPR... and heard this new book that came out about the Bush Family. The book is called..
The Family: The Real Story Behind The Bush Family Dinasty.
As I heard the calls and the author speak, she mentioned a couple of things that were no surprise, nor unknown, such as Bush doing crack back in his days various times, smoking pot in gatherings with Laura Bush, as well as his addiction to Alcohol or alcohol problem until he's forties, the bad times he had with his father, during he's father's presidency, so much that they didnt talk for like a year, and the way he treated Laur Bush back in the days, so much that today is perceived as the honey moon, and the how ironic it is that Laura Bush opposes Cell sterm treatment, when they were the ones to use the latest technology to get Laura pregnant.. among a lot of other things.. So, I don't know, this writter, Kitty Kelly, comes from a Republican family, and has done many other awarded biograpfies.. so, Im wondering, if this is really true, among the many other tales that she has found out, such as Bush the first having lovers and such, things I never thought, but she has found, have talked to people within the family and such.. that reveal this and more withing the book.. Now, I dont like to see any Bush lover to just come and bash if you heavent read the book.. I want to read the book myself, so here is the review..

From the Inside Flap
They have wielded enormous financial power and dominated world politics for more than half a century. They have been appointed to positions of great power and have been elected as governors, congressmen, senators and presidents. They have shaped our past and, with our country at war under the leadership of their number one son, they are, more critically than ever, shaping our future.
As the Bush family has risen to dominance, so too they have been master orchestrators of their own public image, acting and operating under the shield of privacy their money and status have always afforded them. Until now.
Number One bestselling author and investigative biographer Kitty Kelley has closely examined the lives of Jacqueline Onassis, Nancy Reagan, Frank Sinatra, and the British Royal family. Now the First Lady of unauthorized biography reckons with the first family of the United Statesand the result is at once a rich and shocking history and a very human portrait of the world's most powerful dynasty.
An important work on wealth, power, and class in America, The Family is rich in texture, probing in its psychological insight, revealing in its political and financial detail, and stunning in the patterns that emerge and expose the Bush dynasty as it has never before been exposed. Ms. Kelley takes us back to the origins of the family fortune in the Ohio steel industry at the turn of the last century, through the oil deals and international business associations that have maintained and increased their wealth over the past hundred years. The book leads us through Prescott Bush's first entre into government at the state level in 1950s' Connecticut, to George Herbert Walker Bush's long and winding road to the White House, to his son's quick sweep into the same office. Along the way, we see the complex relationships the Bushes have had with the giants of the centuryEisenhower, Nixon, Joseph McCarthy, Kissinger, Reagan, Clintonas well as the often ruthless methods used to realize their goals.
Perhaps most impressiveand surprisingis the way the book delves behind the obsessively protected public image into the family's intimate private lives: the matriarchs, the mistresses, the marriages, the divorces, the jealousies, the hypocrisies, the golden children, and the black sheep.
At a crucial point in American history, Kitty Kelley is the one person to finally tell all about the family that has, perhaps more than any other, defined our role in the modern world. This is the book the Bushes don't want you to read. This is The Family.

I don't know. There isn't enough substance in that article to make any conclusions or arguments. Sounds more like a movie teaser to me! Consequently, I can't even begin to comment on some of the claims that you are making in your post. Got anything else to provide more detail with some factual backing? |

people change with time and im sure he had fun when he was a big party boy when he was younger. who doenst want to have fun when theyre young?
but honestly, both candidates are rich and live lavish lifestyles compared to us TAs. does it matter how they were rich and had hookups? while that may have an ambiguous answer, the thing to remember is that money talks. Most of us are just unfortunate not to have that much.
the other day i read the story about how george bush sr. struck it in the oil business after being the youngest pilot in ww2. he bet all his 800k (borrowed from family and his own money) into 71 oil holes over somewhere in texas, after studying the landscape for many years. all the holes hit and he started making a fortune.
while this is off to another tangent, the people that beleive big corporations are this/that never know the real story behind the struggle that brought them there in the first place. not everything just falls down from the sky. |

Yes, and several of the sources - including the Bsuh relative who supposedly made the worst allegations - have said that they weren't even contacted. Sounds like another CBS-style hatchet job on the Bush family, or simply on Republicans. Facts were of no consequence to Kelley when she wrote the unauthorized Reagan biography either. (In which she alleged both Reagans were heavy pot smokers, but never provided a valid source for the allegations).
I've said it before and I'll say it again. It's really pathetic that the Democrats can't score a hit on Bush without lying to do it. The CBS memos, the Kelley book, you name it...they're all being successfully challenged on the facts. Take that in contrast to the Swift Boat Veterans' book, which has yet to have a single fact proven wrong. |

AS I heard her speak, the one family member that made the allegations CONTACTED Kelly ( as to what she said ) .. and the publicists that this one member had was there too. I have not read the book, so I'll have to get back to this later. |
