I am not in Montreal but reading this hip hop issue I had to say something.....What the f%&$ are they thinking?? Tiesto and hip hop??
Electronic Music and hip hop should not be mixed. Its like mixing Classical music with Country! ( Country in refference to hiphop!) |

but what u don't understan sohaness , is that this friday night should be exceptionnal with trance only (no other genre else played) |

i understand what you're saying, but in sona's point of view, this friday night is not much different than others. it's all about the money.
they would rather have a load of ppl buy tiesto tix and go to the main room + have all the people that want to hear hip hop in the lounge pay the cover and get in.
instead of just having the tiesto people come in and enjoy the main room and the lounge.
obviously they've figured out that their approach is gonna get them more $$$. they dont give two s about the people that pay 20-30 bucks each weekend for cover...especially @ sona!
also, you really like tiesto, so you think it should be all trance in all rooms. but what about someone who likes a techno dj or a house dj that comes in on a friday night. then, that person wants the whole club to play techno or house or whatever...you understand what i'm saying?
they can't please everyone... |

SO CAN YOU, ITS THERE CLUB AND I AGREE WITH SOHANESS, THERE IN IT FOR THE MONEY, THEY DONT GIVE A ABOUT US. ARE YOU NOT GOING TO SEE TIESTO BECAUSE THERE IS HIP HOP DOWNSTAIRS? NO. SO THEY STILL GET THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS. LAST TIME TIESTO PLAYED SONE ON A FRIDAY IT WAS THE SAME THING AND THE PLACE WAS PACKED, THERE NOT GOING TO TAKE A CHANCE ON LOOSING CASH AND AT THE SAME TIME THEY PLEASE THERE REGULAR CLIENTEL. | I agree with the fact that they are in it for the money and not to set an ideal musical ambience for the people that are going there for a special night. None the less Tiesto will rock but there won't be much room to dance.. |

fastdjmp3...not to be an or anything, but you have already said that you have been to sona only once or twice. some people go there every friday and sat. to hear the best hiphop djs. Its not like a club in the lounge, its far different than from any other hiphop club. Dont get me wrong, tiesto is god and i would love to hear him on both floors but this is a FRIDAY NIGHT not a thursday like when van dyk came and they can't just stop playing hiphop or else they would be forced to do that every month when at least when big name dj shows up

i've been there only once and it was a thursday (PvD) . I wonder if it's going to be different or not tomorrow ... |

im glad some people understand my point!
and fastdjmp3, it shouldnt be too different than the thursday, except that the lounge will be playing hip hop...the one thing you can count on is that there will be TONS of shirtless, sweaty, sketchy, men rubbing into you every few seconds. oh the joys of sona... |
