Standing in the piss filled alleyway that they call the smoking section at System and hearing some british guy trying to beg his way in. He only had $40 and apparently at the front door they wanted $65 !?!?!?!?!?

Pssh, that would be free. You pay them $25 to see AVB, they pay you $25 to see Tiesto.
If it was last night, then it would have been Dimitri from Paris and Little Louie Vega. Which does warrant a bit of a price hike, but I seriously don't think they'd have jacked it up to $65, wasn't it advertised as $20? |

if it was last night, cover was $30 in advance tickets and more at the door. after the bar closes cover charge does go up higher. highly doubt it was $65. i think the guy was exaggerating. after bar hour cover is always $40 |

actually the guy wanted to pay $40 and the bouncer refused. I heard the whole thing. $65 is a lot but i had a great time so i guess its capitalism to charge what the market can bear.
System seems to be the place for nice house on saturdays now. Prog and techno at guv, house at system and prog at boa....
Republik is on the horizon.
Could this be the rebirth of Toronto clubbing? |

I would pick FILM over SYSTEM any day of the week and twice on Sunday. SYSTEM has some good dj's but I can't stand the being underground part and the place overall. BOA is good so all they have to do is go out and take some more of SYSTEM's dj's and they will be even better:gsmile:
GUV is GUV and always will be but it's a dirty shame that MARK OLIVER doesn't play at GUVERNMENT the same way he does at VIVA.
The more and more I find out about REPUBLIK the more impressed I become and I am am not easily impressed at all:eyes: :gsmile: :D |

He plays better at Guv when its a 9 hour set IMO however lately at viva he's been tearing the place apart. Last week he played some of the best house and techno ive heard in ages. People were even chanting "mark mark mark mark"
