I searched but couldn't locate a thread on this track (if there happens to be one I do apologize)...

Dave Seaman, Chad Jackson and vocalist Nat Leonard have teamed up under the alias Group Therapy to create the song "My Own Worst Enemy." I read a small review at Progressive-Sounds that really does this track so much more justice than I could do with my own words:

quote:
The 'Original Mix' is a huge driving house track, with vast sweeping sounds, melodies and a killer electronic bassline that will set the speakers shaking for sure. A big lead moves through the centre of the track, as Natalie's vocal rolls in over the top, leading us to the payoff in the form of a guitar break that builds from nothing into the emotionally charged finale, with a looped vocal hook that you can guarantee to have stuck in your head days later, as Seaman and friends deliver yet another classic in the making.

I couldn't agree more. The vocals are ace, the bassline is hardcore, the production is top notch and it's all just put together so amazingly. I'm very impressed.

9 / 10

By the way I typed up the lyrics (however there are 1.5 lines I can't seem to make out, help needed)

quote:
There's a place in my heart
A place I know I really shouldn't go
But I'm easily led
I seem to have a problem saying no
And to think it's a front
So it doesn't really matter all that much
A plublicity stunt
A fabricated tendancy to self destruct

oh ah ah...

There's a place in my heart
A place I know I really shouldn't go
But I'm easily led
I seem to have a problem saying no
And you turn a blind eye
Cause it's just another phase I'm going through
? ? ?
These things have a habit of wanting you
I just can't seem to trust myself
? ? ? for anyone else

I'm my own worst enemy (x6)
But you aint seen the end of me

I just can't seem to trust myself
? ? ? for anyone else

oh ah ah...

I'm my own worst enemy (x6)
But you aint seen the end of me

Hey there -

So I too have been trying to figure out the lyrics.

You did a really good job... you got a lot of the stuff I couldn't figure out, but I have something to add...
but there's still that one line that confounds me :conf: :conf:

These things have a habit of wanting you
I just can't seem to trust myself
so I change constantly for anyone else

I'm my own worst enemy (x6)
But you aint seen the end of me

I just can't seem to trust myself
so I change constantly for anyone else

oh ah ah...

I'm my own worst enemy (x6)

Seaman played some version of this track in a set at Space in Instanbul back in November 2002. How does it compare ? I was always wondering what that great song was. had some great vocals. It was one the first tracks on the 3rd CD recorded live.

omg.. here it is :/

There's a place, in my head
A place I know I really shouldn't go
But I'm easily lead, I seem to have a problem sayin' no
And you think, it's a front
So it doesn't really matter all that much
A publicity stunt, a fabricated tendency to self-destruct

ahh.. ah..

There's a place, in my head
A place I know I really shouldn't go
But I'm easily lead, I seem to have a problem sayin' no
And you turn, a blind eye
Cause it's just another phase I'm goin' through
Well what good is goodbye?
These things have a habit of haunting you
I just can't seem to, trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

I'm my own, worst, enemy
But you ain't, seen, the end of me..
I just can't seem to, trust myself

So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?
