For whomever is upset about this:

Be glad this merger is taking place. Your roaming agreements just expanded 10 fold. Your technology and phone features just did the same.

IMO this is the best thing to happen to the cellular/mobile business in North America, ever.

From a technology perspective - you should all be very pleased.

/me is going to have to go and buy the new Blackberry when it comes out in November as a result of this merger.

Bell and Telus are now going to have to work their arses off to roll out 3G services to compete with the GPRS systems that Rogers/Fido have.

Giddy-up! Competition rocks! :)

First time I hear of that, hmm their commercials are still playing so thats kindda odd if its the case, but anyway Fido went downhill since a couple of years cause all the big names caught up with them and they just cant keep up with the market..

you gotta give it to them tough, its because of companies like these that cell phones are now affordable to just about anybody and so popular these days

..Bell
bass drive
I got Fido once for 1 week and it was terrible.
the receptions is not good (no repcition at York :wtf: )

only good thing about Fido is the GSM system, but now it's worth it to get Fido.
Fido prices with Rogers tech will be great

or maybe it's just talk to get people to sign up and save this crappy company :D

for my sake and the sake of other Fido subscribers i can only hope you're right ..

let's see what happens after 2 years when existing Fido contracts expire with the soon to be only GSM provider in Canada.. :nervous:

Scary thought..This might very well be the end of competition as far as GSM market goes...
infinity HiGH
...if the Fido/Rogers deal goes to s (basically, service gets worse, rates go up, etc etc), I wonder if a new company will come and be the new "Fido".

But I'd like to see some of the big companies move in, like T-Mobile and have them setup a network here. Rogers would get owned so fast.
