Question from traveller coming to Southern US

Hi, I'm a TA from near Toronto who is doing a road trip to visit a friend in Tennessee next week. I have a total of 2 weeks to travel and I was thinking about hitting up the Gulf coast, possibly Louisisana (New Orleans). My question is: Is it worth going down there still since the hurricane has been through there?? Just wondering, cuz I planned my trip before the hurricane was anticipating on coming. Also, can anyone direct me to some info re: hostels in the Southern US? Any other travel ideas would be appreciated.

New Orleans is a great party town. Definitely go if you get a chance. New Orleans was not effected that badly by the storms. Btw what part of Tennessee are you visiting? I live in Nashville....and I also used to live in Hamilton...small world.

You're kidding!! I live in Hamilton right now! I went to McMaster University and I now work at the hospital. Crazy. I am going to be visiting Pulaski, south of Nashville. If I don't go as far South as New Orleans, I might hit up Atlanta...looks like there's a lot going on there. |

LoL small word indeed. I went to Central Elementry and Ryerson Middle.
WoW Pulaski........that will definitely be an experience. Atlanta is your best bet since it's about 3-4 hours away from Pulaski. |

Is there any club and party listing I can look at? I don't see one on this forum, but maybe there's a website that lists parties in the Southern US over the next couple weeks. Help appreciated.
