thomas
thanks :) it's always nice that someone likes my mix.

it's my first full cd lenght mix, the others are something about
30 - 60 minutes.. the mix has been made with technics sl-1200mk2's
and a pioneer djm-600 (no i do not use djm-600 effects in my mixes)
i think that people use too much effects in their mixes :(

i can put here the cue file next week if you guys want it ?

Those tracks look really good dude..

I love way out west.

as for your equipment, that is exactly what I want. although I might end up getting the DJM500 because I can't afford the 600.

as for effects, I think they can be overused, but there is a time and a place for them. like in the buildups, its okay to tweak the effects a bit, add something to the song. as long as when the main beat kicks in, you turn all the effects off and let the song pump as it should.

also, I found an interesting thing with the DJM500. I was using a starwars record to scratch around, and have fun with. I had Da Hool - meet her at the love parade on the left deck (tech 12 mk2s) and the track was near the beginning.

I used the BPM counter to figure out the beat of the Da Hool track, and then put echo(or maybe it was delay) on the star wars record to the same timing. it worked out really easy, one readout said 420, the other said 380, so I just tweaked the knob till they were both 420 (my favorite number!)

at that point, the star wars record started echoing in time to the music perfectly! even scratching the record sounded awesome.. by opening and closing the cross fader I was able to get some COOL sounds. you'd have to hear it, but it was neat.

anyway, sorry for the long post.. but effects can be cool sometimes.

I'm downloading your mix right now, I'll let you know what I think.

*edit* listening now. first track is nice, first mix is tight, diggin the second track, kind of a breakbeat feel to it, but still trancy.. nice.

*edit 2* done listening. pretty good. but the very last mix, at about 4:20 remaining in the track(67:17 in) sounds a little sketchy, and then the last track fades out prematurely. I think if you are going to have a fade out anyway, may as well do it before that mix, because it isn't as good as the rest..

overall good mixing, great tunes

I just cant believe this :eyes: ,there really is another trance addict in Joensuu, lol. Damn I only got 64k ISDN so Im not going to dl the set now but anyway great choise of trax. Im no dj but Ive done some mixes with Traktor and we seem to have exactly the same taste of trance :).
Dude if want to, check few of my trax on
http://www.mp3.com.au/anonyme , I think I can call myself as one of the best melodic trance producers in Joensuu, dunno if there's any others :D .
