Hi. I am a Brazilian TA who is going to Colorado this winter, to Colorado Springs. So, I wanted to know if you guys could give me some info on the city such as weather, nightlife, etc. A good link will be usefull. I tried to google it but I just came upon a bunch of government websites which sucked pretty much.
Thank you for your help!

Hey, I live in Boulder CO which is about 1.5-2 hrs from CO Springs by car. I dont know much about CO Spgs perse, as Ive been there only a handful of times. I do imagine the weather is similar to ours, winters on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains can be snowy and cold - and this one looks to be very much that. But also Colorado towns on the edge of the mountains get warm winds that generally melt the snow quite quickly. Obviously the mountains WILL get more, but thats why people go skiing and snowboarding. I do remember winter holidays where I wore t shirts outside though!

As far as EDM scene in CS....I am going to bum you out, at one point CS had reasonably good shows, and perhaps it still does. But since raves are mostly a thing of the past here Denver is where to go to see the big names. The even show up in Boulder from time to time, I saw Way Out West at the beginning of last summer (heh your winter - but i dont know what winter is in Brazil!). That may piss you off, but I know youll have fun. Theres some very cool nature stuff in Co Spgs, and if you get to come to Denver there will likely be something happening.

Generally Thursday nights at The Church in Denver is when the big names play. I have seen Adam Freeland, Sander Kleinenberg, Max Graham, Dj Micro, Sasha, Steve Porter, Marco V, Steve Lawler, etc etc there. Sometimes the shows happen on Saturday- but then you need to be 21. Check out the Colorado Thread in West Coast to learn more!

yeah, as biz said, denver is where you're gonna see the big name dj's. i used to live in the springs and it's a pretty lame nightlife. the only decent bars are downtown and even those are pretty boring. if you're able to travel then i'd try to come up to denver if i were you.

Thanks guys, thats some good fedback, better than anything I'd be able to get from a google search.

And, answering your question mate, winter here in my town in Brazil, the weather is as cold as 10C.. In F that would be 10 x 3 / 2 +32 = 47F...

I'm playing in the Springs on November 13th for some show with 30+ locals and a headliner or two. If you are here by then PM me and I'll let you know the details. I don't even know yet. Ryan Dykstra, one of the bigger promotors here, is throwing the event so it should be decent.

I'm also throwing a party on Dec. 4th in Denver, ~1 hr away.
