sits back and waits for the first one to say its not about tools but about the ideas in your head :o

cant fill in your list as i'm not quite awear of all gear on the market
nectario
I totally agree! Its all about the ideas. You can achieve wonders with even cheaper equipment. Heck, even no equipment...

But I need these gears to achieve my "IDEAS"... :-)

No sense in having like 10 effects proccessers that do essentialy the same thing..... Not to mention USB audio interfaces are junk in comparison to the firewire ones... Then comes sound quallity its pointless to have all these awesome effects and then have a crappy bass signal, so you need a good a/d converter.... Maybe a nice midi timepiece aswell to control some of the effects....

a good studio should look like this

Protools TDM
cubase/logic
Multieffects(fireworx, eclipse, kurzweil, etc.)
Reverb (Lexicon, etc)
Use the digi audio interface
apogee a/d converter or digi
Soundcraft ghost console or protools
mic pre
blue mics are generaly good all around
far as synths go
andromeda(for analog goodness)
Virus or waldorf q( for VA goodness)
Microwave XT (wavetable synth for squeeks and what not)

Then id say spend a lot of money on nice plugins the compressers and stuff for protools cant be beat....

Be looking forward of ur stuff one day.
But I prefer s/w plugin then hardware unless I had bunch of money.

You may have a good monitor speaker, but do u have a good acoustic room?

Idea is the point and creativity counts too. Having good stuff but idea aint there kill urs money.

I still produce sh*t! :haha: :haha: :haha:

youv'e forgotten completley about the computer :p

add something like this:

1 x Athlon 64 3200+
2 x Kingston 512mb DDR sdram (400mhz)
1 x MSI NEO-FIS2R motherboard
2 x Western digital raptor 74gb SATA 10000rpm (raid 0 of course)
1 x Maxtor DiamondMax Plus9 200gb SATA (for storage, very silent)

I won't bother to list things like CD-rom and that stuff because it's not as important to the production as theese parts are :)

thoose parts listed together should land somewhere between 800$-1000$ here in sweden. I suspect it's cheaper in the US :)

true viz good point the comp does make alot of the production possible,

And then some rarer stuff like:
OB-8

id rather have gear thats all midi its a bitch to sync up not midi gear........ a alesis andromeda can replace a moog and a oberheim..... the their is a software ver of the sidstation and the rack mount jupiter is far superior to its keyboard counterparts imo..

Yeah, well the Syntecno TeeBee has 4 CV/Gate connections so it isnīt that hard to manage all those analogs.. The moog and Oberheim is much easier to program then an Andromeda, from what iīve heard. Then the sidstation contains the original sid chip wich is fun to have. And the rackmounted jupiter is really a bitch to program.
