Uh, , been ages since i used FL.

But i remember you can start Absynth stand allone, means without FL or any other VST sequencers.

But can you like record in it? and export to samples? and like play a melody or something and export it so i can use it in Reason?

Or do i need FL for it ?

thanks

I believe there is an "record to wav" option in the Absynth standalone.. but if not then get a copy of SoundForge of just about any other wave editor and record what you play

not sure why you would want to do this though, trance music requires very quantized rythems and if you play it the note lengths won't be exact

as far as I know... no, you cannot...

But there probably is a way to route some midi file to absynth to make it play and then recording the output of that sound in cooledit or soundforge or wavelab

oh.. did you mean play a MIDI through it? :D

I know with NI's B3 Organ plugin you can import a MIDI file into the standalone but for somereason the rest don't have that option (that I know of)

best thing would be to use FL (if that's the one you're comfortable with) just for that purpose.. shouldn't be THAT bad ;)

Do you know how to important a MIDI? and how do i record it with soundforge?

well I don't know about importing midi into Absynth, but to record whatever you play back from Absynth in Sound Forge (assuming you are using windows) go down to the icons in the bottom right corner of the screen and double click on the speaker icon. A volume box will pop up with sliders on it. Go to the top left of that and drop down the "options" menu and click on properties. There will be a section that says "adjust volume for" and then 3 options, Playback, Recording, and Other. Select Recording, then a list of things with boxes and check marks will show up. Make sure wave out or something that has to do with the main output (it's different depending on what version of windows) is selected. Then Click "Okay". It will take you back to the mixer with different options. Make sure that the Wave out (or main out) is selected. Then don't close that box. Start up Absynth and Soundforge both. in sound forge click on record and select your sample rates ect. Make sure in the options to "monitor record level" Then play the Absynth, and watch the record levels. Check them and if they are too low or too high, go back to the windows mixer that you left open and adjust the slider till it's at a decent level. Then press Record and Start playing the Absynth, and you have a recording of the synth. Hope that helps with the Recording part at least.
