| In Nero select "File/New..." --> "Open..." in the lower right corner of the window --> select "Image files *.nrg, *.iso, *.cue" --> open your cue file. |

| I do this alot and have a pretty top of the line computer. Don't get frustrated when it looks like nero locks up. Just leave your computer for a couple mins. I think that nero loads the whole mp3 into memory and this ends up taking 45seconds - 1 min on my good setup, and about 1:30 - 2:00 mins on this pos AMD 1600+ I'm using, depending on how much ram you have. |

ok guys i cant get the hang of this.
ill start over.so i pasted the cue. file from the trance addict page the set was on and i copied onto a notebook page and saved as .cue and it worked.that was fine.
i opened up nero and selected the set then dragged it across into the burning screen.and it came up analysed ok and the blue time bar came up showing it was 71mins long.then i tried to bring across the cue. file but it was not supported.
i tried to first open the cue file as was first suggested by andiH but it brought me straight into a screen where it was ready to burn the cue. file?
also tried burning it as a mixed mode cd but it just came up as 2 files.the cue file and the live set.
how can i get both onto the same cd?
if i burn them seperately will the cd be already used as its not re-writeable and so ill not be able to do it?
i need so much help guys please.need to explain everything in detail.cheers so much! |

| ok...just burn the .cue file. forget the mp3's or whatever the format is, because the .cue file tells it what music to record and how to splice it up. The only problem I've had with Nero burning .cue files is that it doesn't seem to like spaces in the file name of the music you are burning (indicated by a error in line 3 message). |

OK guys, cue files are pretty easy. You have to realize that they're just text files - you can open them up in Notepad or whatever.
Anyway, the important line that gets most people funk'd up on cue files when they're just starting is this:
FILE "xxx.mp3" MP3
You need to specify an mp3 (or wave) file that is associated with your cue file, in the cue file itself.
Most of the time, your cue and mp3 are in the same folder -> in which case you don't have to specify a pathname. Just the name of the mp3.
So let's say you have an mp3 called "Tiesto - Live @ Whathaveyou [09-09-09].mp3"
If you have a cue file it should be the same name (not necessary for burning but necessary if you use mp3cue):
"Tiesto - Live @ Whathaveyou [09-09-09].cue"
In the cue file you should specify this near the top:
FILE "Tiesto - Live @ Whathaveyou [09-09-09].mp3" MP3
Now if it's a wave file you should input this:
FILE "Tiesto - Live @ Whathaveyou [09-09-09].wav" WAVE
There you go. And as for Nero - select "Burn Image" and then select the .cue file - *NOT* the mp3 file itself!!
Then you should be set. |

No problem...
If you edited/saved the cue file correctly, then you won't need to specify if it's a mixed mode, audio, cd-extra, or anything else - Nero (or any other burning software) will automatically *know* how to burn it. That's the point of a cue file! :)
You don't make a new compilation or anything "new" in Nero.
Launch Nero. If it creates a new compilation, just close that - you won't need it. Now that Nero is launched and nothing is open, select Burn Image. (Depending on the version you're using, that's either in the File menu or Recorder menu).
One selected Nero will ask you what file to burn. Select your CUE file (not mp3). After that a dialog box will open up and you can select burn speed, etc. Click ok to burn and you should be set.
Note:
If you're going to burn an mp3 (versus a .wav file) Nero will take up to a minute (or several, depending on your computer) to decode the mp3. It may seem that Nero crashed, but it didn't - it just takes a long time and the programmers were too lazy to put up a progress bar to tell you anything. So be patient :)
If you write the mp3 out as a wave file and burn that, you won't get the delay. |

a great set by CKYTEP i may add.i opened up wordpad and saved it exactly 'CKYTEP - Mmmm, Prog.cue
it saves ok and is recognised as a cue file.then when i try and burn it tht error thing comes up?
where did i go wrong? thank for the help so far starlabs.i REALLY appreciate it.thank you! |

Here's your problem, it's subtle:
| quote: | | FILE "CKYTEP - Mmmm, Prog!.wav" WAVE |
Yet your *actual* cue filename is this:
| quote: | | CKYTEP - Mmmm, Prog.cue |
Therefore your mp3/wave must be named this: "CKYTEP - Mmmm, Prog.wav"
Close but not exactly the same. Windows doesn't allow exclamation marks ("!") in filenames, that's how I noticed it.
Update your cue to use FILE "CKYTEP - Mmmm, Prog.wav" WAVE and it should work. |

its still not working ffs
im getting really pissed off.
its coming up with an error box with an 'x' saying cannot open then wav file even tho its not being used then it says theres something wrong with the 3rd line?
sorry for this man |
|
|

| the 3rd line error message is because there are spaces in the file name. Change the .wav file to something without spaces and then also change it in the .cue file - you'll be all set then. |
