Currently Ivan is what we call a tropical depression. It is known as a Tropical depression because of a slight rotation noted in the thunderstorm complex and sustained winds of 20-34 knots (or roughly 23 to about 40mph). Is that what you are looking for? or the complete history? |
its depressed that it cant cause any more damage,.. |

Ivan was one weird ass storm.
we had a tropical meteorology lab about 3.5 weeks ago or so, whenever Ivan was just a cloud on the western edge of Florida. our professor wanted us to make a forecast of what we thought was going to happen.
I had put Texas/Lousiana down as my answer....but when i saw it hit Alabama i was a bit disappointed. but nature has it's way of messin' with your head and so it brought Ivan back down the coast, across Florida and BAM! right where i thought it was going to go. so i effectively forecasted where it was going to go....just was about a week off. LOL |

Your VP was talking with our pres (3 of the 5 from our exec board were out there) We were over near the baseball fields I believe?? But there was one other AMS member there. I forgot her name but she was one of the interns that worked for Tom Skilling @ WGN. My friend Ron knows her through the internship.
I do give Ames a thumbs up for bars. Places that this guy stumbled around: Mickeys, Pattys, Club 8 and 2 other pizza places. A+ to you guys. You put our tailgating to shame. |

no, but no offence it seems to baffle you, as a pediatrician is a doctor who specializes in the treatment of children (unless u made that mistake out of a sarcastic nature and noone else realized it)
but it is a natural mistake (as it does include the term ped as in biped ) i actualy had to look it up on google jsut to be sure i was correct
foot doctors are lumped in with several other types of as orthopaedists
and the field of orthopedics ranges from feet, to arms, to broken bones, to spine injuries, to torn muscles to..
and i just realized how much of a nerd this makes me, because i took the time to look this up... |

Yes, one thing that is good about the state of iowa is that people now how to build a good bar.
A lot of the seniors have Meteorology 411 [synoptic applications] on MWF from 4-4:30pm. so every friday, after discussion is over with we go straight to the bars for FAC [friday after class] and hit up a different bar each time. Paddy's in' rocks. good times! |
