Reason and Sonar help...

The main issue is: I cannot seem to record MIDI tracks onto Sonar through rewire...

Here is what happens...

-> Both applications are closed
-> I open Sonar, choose Insert, Rewire, then Reason
-> Reason pops open with the correct song
-> then I get a message that My Midi port is in use (do both reason and sonar MIDI ports have to be open?)
-> After ignoring that message I go back to Sonar, set my tracks, channels, etc...
-> I can play the song from Sonar, I can hear each individual channels instruments, I ARM for recording, hit play, then after a few measures, I STOP....

...and I see absolutely nthing...please help, someone! I'm dying to edit my song...

I've had a beast of a time figuring this one out as well. I'll look in Sonar POWER! tomorrow, but in the mean time, export it out of reason as a wave?

yup, actually I'll just have to make do with Reasons sequencer for now and make do with Soundforge editing...if you can find something that would be awesome, if not...I'm sure sooner or later I'll get it working...

There is no MIDI OUT in Reason, so i dont think you'll be able to record Reason's midi into Sonar thru Rewire.

Export to midi-file inside Reason, and import to Sonar.

Try this:

If you only have one MIDI Input port on your MIDI interface, you probably have that one reserved for SONAR, leaving none for your ReWire application. If you would rather use your MIDI controller in the ReWire application instead of SONAR, you can deselect your MIDI input port in SONAR's MIDI Devices dialog (Options-MIDI Devices command), and then select that MIDI Input from whatever menu your ReWire application has for that purpose. If you have multiple inputs on your MIDI interface, simply select different ones for SONAR and your ReWire application.
