That’s Sasha for you. Sasha may have a piss poor attitude but he has the work to back it up

unlike djs such as (Jokenfold) who has a vile attitude, crap productions and mixing

I got my picture taken with Oakenfold and got to ask him a few questions last time around..lol

Damn i cant believe i missed sasha...Maybe because i got fired and im jobless now..lol
I Hope yall had a blast

Thin crust rocked it.

Sasha was awesome too.. but damn.. left so damn quick.

Great seeing you all TA's and meeting regulate as well. And damn pete.. so sorry to hear.. thats just plain gay.

Any chance that anyone ID some tracks from last night?

Thin Crust (I only happen to remember a few, i suck at ID'n. Great Set though!!)

All I could ID from DjThree was Freeform Five - Strangest Thing (M.A.N.D.Y Remix)

Sasha - (prolly really diggin Skylark)
Syntax - Love Song (Skylark Dub Mix)
A-Studio - SOS (Skylark Vocal Remix)
Chable & Bonnici - Ride (King Unique Remix)

i particulary loved this one song he played at 3:00.

maybe I wasnt paying close attention to the mixing but I didnt hear any trainwrecks. I dont quite understand why he needed 3 CDJ 1000s...he wasnt doing anything (from what I could see) that was any different from a prog headliner that normally works with two. In my honest opinion..I also did not feel that the transitions were as long as I woulda made em. However the tracks he dropped....WOW. I wish someone was able to ID the whole set.

It also seemed like there were alot more lights in the club. That or the light guy was actually earning his pay this time around :tongue2

It was my first show in Houston, so here's my long writeup. I'd hoped to make it for the dinner meetup, but a birthday happy-hour in Austin, THEN made the drive. I got to 2401 around 11:30 pm.

I'm sitting on a riser listening to the opener, when the guy next to me takes my photo with his digital camera. He says he'll post it on the TranceAddict Forum. "I read the forum!"

It turned out all the people I was standing near were also on the forum. Introductions all around. I was happy to meet everyone, though I had a hard time keeping handles/real names straight.

Finally, at 2:09 (he was supposed to start at 1 AM, I'd heard), Sasha started. Sasha put on a good show. I couldn't ID any of the tracks. Very NOT like Involver, & much more dance-y. At one point he was chugging straight out of a bottle that looked like it could either be Vodka or Water. Whichever, he was downing the stuff.

I witnessed an attempted glow-stick seduction. A girl was weaving glowsticks around as she danced. DB had told me that "raving" was way-out, & grounds for embarrassment among the younger set. Glow-stick girl was the only person at the club with glowsticks...until glowstick BOY pulled out his glowsticks & attempted to lure her in, like a firefly bobbing & weaving to entice prey.

Mario leaned his head to talk to me. I saw movement out of the corner of my eye, & turned my head. Ka-boom, I cold-clocked his nose with the side of my head. Later, Mario & the guys were leaving. He went in for a hug, & I cold-clocked him once again. SORRY MARIO!!! I hope you're not Black & Blue!!!

At one point, gray confetti droppoed on the crowd. That was odd.

I stayed til Sasha dropped the last track at 4 AM, Felix da Housecat's "Watching Cars Go By". I think it was the only track from Involver that Sasha played. Sasha literally walked off stage after dropping the record on. Someone else came on & did the physical fade-out at 4:09.

Overall, a good show. Not incredible, like Paul Van Dyk earlier this month, but worth the trip from Austin. I'm still getting used to TX clubs staying open after 2 AM. Even though the club is open, last call is at 1:45 AM. I need to learn to get my drink in early. & I was really happy to meet the Houston TA's.

Sasha was coming down with something that day and into the night he got much much worse. By 10PM he was extremely ill. Sasha was with a doctor from 12 till almost 140AM that very night. We were really concerned for him and it seemed that it was gonna be a sick day for him and have to cancel and disappoint a fully packed venue of people. Then, at around 145AM he told the doctor he wasnt gonna stay in bed and that he had to go to the gig regardless of his advice to stay in bed and rest...

he called, got up, got dressed, and arrived to do a set for everyone.

Thanks to all who came out

see you at dieselboy...
