(well not trance per say, but you know what I mean)
The ing guitar riffs, the sick electro beats, the bass traps, high-quality of production these days. Well on the dancefloor anyways...
I really think this year is going to see "our music" blow up on another level. 2005 that is. The music is just really really dynamic at the moment, and you can see the direction it's taking, and how it's got potential to blow huge. (be that in sales, charts, popularity, whatever)
Am I talking ? More than likely, but I'm just really excited about dance music these days. I don't want to say "house", "techno", "breaks", or god forbid "trance", but THAT SOUND. (actually at times, a nice mix of all of them) Really dancey, and just all around fun. It does have an air about it that reminds me of disco (the age, not the genre), but what do I know, I was listening to pearl jam when I was 14. (re: never lived through disco)
The days of Global Underground 19 are well behind us. pff :tongue3

I like GU 19.
But yeah I totally agree, dance music is taking on a whole diverse range of sounds. I think a lot of the uniqueness coming up in dance music these days is because hip hop is whoring up the top 40 charts, leaving dance music alone and preventing it from being formulaic. It's good to be a party goer these days.
On another similar note, anyone noticed that the parties happening in toronto these days are becoming better? We seem to be attracting the proper crowds again and everyone seems to be out and having fun. |

| Andain - Beautiful Things is the only trance track with guitar riffs that I can think of that I like. The rest of them... idunno... sound out of place most of the time. I'll have to listen to GU 19. |

| ive notice the same thing. The glut is over. The good stuff has always been there but its coming back to the forefront again. And yes I agree about the crowds, somewhat. Work is needed but i think commercial hip hop is a dying breed in the clubs at least. A lot of hip hop fans are going back to the roots of hip hop as well ive noticed. |
