Is it like 'Mee-shhhh-ee' ?

When I was living in Austria, I had a friend named Michael, whom we used to call Michi. It's hard to explain becuase the sound doesnt exist in english. It does exist in arabic, hebrew, russian and a few other languages. It's like your scratching the back of your throat with air. or the sound you make when you're trying to hork a lougie.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Now that he mentioned Hebrew, I know exactly how to say his name.

Try to gargle air... with the CH sound.

Yea his explanation definitely helped me figure out how to say it.

Thing is... you pronounce the ch/k part softly. When trying to say it for the first time, it might come out too spitty and hard. Key is... control the roll. :p
