Well your true on your statement, but let's look at it from a Feeling's perspective. Even tho I'm a DJ/Producer, when I hear that sound, I just feel at "Awe". b/c of how it sounds/freq and such, It put's me in that dream land feel. I'm sure others feel the same, so to me, that sound will always give me the goose bump effect, and will never grow tired of. I bought a JP-8000 just so I can play that sound, and feel the dreamland feel when I run it against a Popular Midi Arp Seq. But that's my humble opinion.

oh and Plus, do you remember how it made you feel when you first heard it? What about the people 20-30 Years from know, who never heard of it, and how they are going to re-act when they hear it ;) |

Exactly Pappa,
For me it's not overused. I'm new to the whole production thing and I'm in love with the JP-8000/8080 sound :gsmile:
Besides, I've listened to some of the Patch Banks from vengeance-music and rb2k1. They sound great and really show a lot of other potential in the JP (besides the supersaw). |

Hey Dane,
i havent had a chance to hear your pro53 supersaw but it was nice to read that you liked my sound-bank.
The JP-80x0 is an awesome synth im sure youll be happy with it!
As far as software goes.. ive made a vst for making supersaw like sounds in a similar fashion as the roland does it.. however its still not very exact. Do a search for Supersaw Vst.
Ive also made a reaktor supersaw ensembel that gives better results..
search for Reaktor Supersaw.
All the best,

Thanks rb2k1
I'll try the Reaktor one.
I'm sure I'll buy you're sound-bank when the JP-8080 arrives.

Nope, the JP-8080´s supersaw is to "perfect".. It is really hard to reproduce that sound with a real analog syntheziser.. |
The jp-8000/80 are 'real analog synths' mate, they just have digital extras that all. And whats wrong with a perfect supersaw? Why do you think people try so hard to get the sound of a jp using VSTi's. |

Digital extras?? They are fully digital and does not contain a single analogue chip. An Analogue syntheziser with VCO´s can't reproduce the supersaw because it is too inaccurate.
The reason why the JP-8000 sound is so hard to reproduce on a VST is because noone has got the programming right. They probably will soon but it will take a while because Roland has no reason what so ever to release all the information of how the filter and oscillator is programmed. |

Sorry, my mistake.
Its 'virtual analog synth'. But it a ledgend and the ultimate buy for trance. |

tbh i would love to buy a jp if i could find one and if i could afford so good fking buy - you have me envy at least.
however and probably cuz of my financial situation im finding that i havent even pushed the envelope when it comes to something like vanguard and that only costs 60 quid - so theres no need for me to go out and shell out tonnes of cash on some new synth when i havent gotten even half of what i could get out of the VSTi's i already own. using 6ths and 7th chords with 3 saw waves and the fat dial on full + detuned lfos you can get pretty fab results out of vanguard.
roland really should make some VSTi incarnations out of their classic synths. i mean theres still so much demand for a VSTi jp8080 (which isnt even in their product line up anymore). they could make a killing with accurate software representations of sommat like a tb-303 (even though its already used by everyone under the sun practically). i think they made one VSTi for cakewalk kintetic (called roland 'groove synth') but i hear it isnt so good. and the tb-303 emulation sounds absolutely nothing like a 303. funny that considering roland built the machine... |

The forum is supposed to learn people :D
And yeah, it really is a legend.. It will probably be bigger than the TB-303 in a couple of years.. |
