Over here in Lisbon there are at least 2 that I know of, and one more in Porto. They are around €500 so I don't know if that's cheap or expensive to you. If they are worth it I have no idea, IMO you should learn it by yourself as you develop better your style, in a school you're told "one way" to do it, at home you'll learn several ways to do the same, but will take more time, so it's up to you really, I'd spend the money on vinyl if I were you though...

Just search on the web and you will find tons.

Personally the idea is a little weird in my book but I do teach kids and youth clubs so why not have a DJ school.

If you are in Brighton England give us a shout.

Cheers

i went to a music college in Sheffield, UK called Red Tape Studios, i did music theory, music business & music technology. i think they did a course for DJ's but i didn't do it so i couldn't tell you what it was like. if it was like any of the courses i did it will be fantastic!

i think there was also a DJ course running a couple of years ago, at either Sheffield University or Sheffield Hallam University. you will have to check out their prospectus' to see if it's still running though :)

Apparently there are some dj schools, or courses that you can take in the states. I saw a blurb about them when i was watching an american channel, but they seemed to be targetted more twords turntablism.

I am not sure how far you are willing to go but there is one in belgrade that is very affordable that my buddy went to and it's basically a specialized course like driving lessons or bartending lessons and not really a "school" . He paid 50 euros for a fast 1 day course but you have to have prior computer and hardware experience, be fluent in english as well as having read various manuals so you are up to speed and then there is a 1 month course which is from beginner to a pro and still only 180 euros and they have all the equipment technics , mixers etc. This is the non english link . Send them an email or something

DJ schools ? :toothless

I haven't heared of that yet, there is some guy who teaches people to mix in Brussels, he charges 250Euro for one week (5 times 2 hours). But if you ask me, you're better of buying some mix cd's and listening to them and then experimenting on your own a bit..
