well we threw a desert party here in vegas last weekend. it was the , but unfortunatley our turntables and mixer got ed up. we were very carefull to keep everything covered up but it just didnt work. now the pitch on my brand new mk5s is not smooth @ all, and it feels so gritty when ever i move it. my mixer...... oh man........ its practically metal on metal when we move faders on it. so basically i was wondering if any body has any suggestions on how to fix this. take apart and clean, is there any kind of lube that you can use, anything of that sort because i have never had to deal with this. thx guys.

i say take everything apart and use one of those computer air canisters to get the grit out. it may be impossible and there may be some lube that will smooth things out- but that wont keep the sand from screwing up the internals if it only moves smoothly and theres still grinding|

i knew that was comming, but we throw them all the time out here, and we are always very carefull, but the wind was unusually strong that night and blew alot up into our covered area.

Maybe those dusting cleaner spray or a use a compressed air thingy that blows air when u squeeze (not sure of the name, commonly used for cams). Looks something like this

+1

i always use those compressed air cans to clean out my stuff. my mixer got super dirty from dust and things, so i used one to clean it out and it worked great. now i just have it covered with some thin plastic food thing...

anyway, desert party sounded fun!!!

pics of it?

thats why I never volunteer my gear for such parties. that gets funked up.

just crack the case open and air spray it. next time seal yourself into a large plastic bubble.
