plz dont say that dj jean is cheese. maybe 'the launch' was cheese, but not jean's other work
anyways, i think things are worse on the west coast, more ppl are into hip hop and rock/alternative here then on the east coast (i might be wrong tho, who knows). among my friends, im the only one whos into trance, ive got a friend whos sorta into house and a lil tiesto, but thats about it. all my friends are into hip hop and all my bf's friends, including my bf, are into rock/alternative. i made a cd for my bf and put some trance tracks on it, he said he liked them, so hopefully im on my way to assimilating him ;)

^^^ i live on the west coast and its true. :)

me is boy, yet me knows two girls that like quality electronica. they are not only into trance though.
on of them is my gf, acid_burn (well, she has signed up with TA.com yet she never posted). she listens a lot to PvD, ATB (crappy some said - I don't like it much either), some BT (well, that's some of my influence..) and Prodigy (no trance there... so what?)
the other one is dj.Krazy (she's been postin' more in the Western Canada forum as far as I know), also into Prodigy and more commercial like Darude and some ATB... oh, and Dune..

but I must admit these are one of the few trancy-girls I know... too bad... girls should flow more than voys do, I mean they are suposed to be more emotional than us, so they should understand trance better.

/me raises a hand...

mebbe im alittle late to this topic but im a girly that likes quality trance music!!! hmm.... or was it just my imagination that wut i like is quality :conf: j/k lol

mm i hate ppl that say that they like trance music thanx to their college roomate or someone and wut they actualyl like is rave music... and the only quality "trance" artists they like and are familiar w/ are PvD, Oakie, and Binary Finary... but they diss on ATB, Alice Deejay.. etc..believin they know the difference btwn quality and not... i pity those peepz :p

anyhow back to the suject... ummm, i dont know too many ppl that actually are into trance music... be it malee or females :) and even among those that are into it, seems like they never sought the music they love. they wait for it to get popular. me on the other hand is always looking for new tunes whether its on http or ftps... :D hence my infamous nickname (In chat) which needs no mentioning :p lol

anyhow.. yah... im a girl that likes trane and, proud of it :D

and I have been clubbing for 12 yrs, just turned 30 last Sat. night. I have been a ta since hearing some of the first stuff Orbital and the other pioneers put out. Granted the music has morphed many times over the years, I still can't give it up. Often friends not into the scene ask me how much longer I can go, and after going to Ibiza this summer and seeing some in their forties, I think I can go a lot longer.

However, I do hate how I keep reading how the prog heads hate trance and vice versa, why can't we like both. I think many are like myslef and like both. But I do have to admit, the nights that I mostly remember that are amazing are the trance nights. Godskitchen at Amnesia was so amazing it took my mind off the fact that my city had just been attacked and that I work 4 blocks from the WTC.

Anyway, enough rambling and long live trance :)and girl power :) to the other girl TAs.

Yeayh yeah all right, well I also must say that some girls are also don't know how to work with a forum!! So this is a explanation!

Second most of the girls like the "trance" (i prefer call it euro-dance) on the radio the most, why?? well its the only think they will here!! For example Nobody of the girls knew that tiesto has released it flight 643. A month and half later many girls talked about it, because it was great etc. Why? Well they just have heared it on the radio. If you tell them who is behind Perpetuous Dreamer many will say they don't know it.

Well that also a reason.

And then you have some people who will walk with everybody because their nice little girlfriend also like the music, so I must also like it. Well ive seen it in the hardcore seen and also here its an issue that have some discussion about.

You live for the music or you don't live ;-)

Well thats my pretty explanation about somethings, and about that people who like R&B isn't it that most of the R&B artists are just making those girls horny with their body then that they really play something usefull (ok R. Kelly does have some good ) Evey girl likes the people ;-)

But I must say there are plenty girls who are really interesting in the trance scene, and i like that. It was not funny when it was dominated by men.

So girls keep up that good work!!!! ;-)

Greetings LightForce!!

Way to go Beverage!! ;)
About trance/progressive: it's all in the name, and it's also all about taste. But one shouldn't put someone down because of their taste, I totally agree with you.

Sorry dude, but there I think you're wrong. I'm full into trance, but why would I have to prove that by knowing all the releases coming out? Most of the tracks being discussed here I don't know, I'm more into a deeper kind of trance. I heard the track from Tiesto just a few weeks ago. Not because I'm not into trance, just because I don't like Tiesto's style, and his tracks I don't like much either. And maybe my opinion will change some day, because I try to stay openminded, but for the moment Tiesto just hasn't got what I'm going for. So don't judge people by knowing tracks...

Hello Everyone!

Trancegurl here and as you can see by my name, I’m a female trance addict! Like my quote says, I breathe trance! All my friends do listen to trance but have no idea who produced the song or remixed the song etc. They don’t know and they don’t really care to know. It’s more like “hey! Good song” (and usually, it’s NOT a good song!) I told my friends that I was going to see Tiesto on Friday and they said “WHO?”. I said the “guy that produced that damn song you have been listening to all week! Geez!” But I am asian and all my asian friends listen to breaks. My sister told me that breaks are easier to dance to and that’s probably why Asians dig breaks. But don’t get me wrong. There’s plenty of Asians that like trance, but I question if they really know anything about it. How can you like something but not bother to know more about it? It’s like saying I like PVD but I don’t know what songs he made etc. Maybe I’m just being a little harsh.

But trance is my life! I only took to spinning trance b/c I like trance soooo much! I don’t really care to make money or to promote myself. It’s just a feeling I get when I mix. When you are on those tables, choosing the tracks you want and listening to them being fused together just takes me to a whole different level. Ladies!! I recommend that yall pick up spinning trance! I’m not saying go out and buy decks and stuff! Go find a DJ friend and ask him/or to teach you. It’s an awesome feeling!! Listening to trance in your car or at home is one thing, but mixing them together is another!! :eyes:

I wish I had more trance buddies, both guys and girls, who can talk trance on my level (It doesn’t matter that much anymore cuz now I have tranceaddict.com!! hehehe). I have missed out on so many events b/c no one was willing to go. But I am the source of trance info for all of my friends!! I have even “converted” quite a few people. When they see my enthusiasm every time I pop in my new mix or my new trance CD, they are amazed how excited i am. They think "Its just music!!" But i tell them that trance is not just music! Its emotions! So in order for them to understand why I get so enthusiastic about trance, they listen for themselves and they always come back and say "damn..I know what you mean now!" But anyways, I’m here just to let you male tranceaddicts know that there is a female trance addict here that could talk trance with you on every level!! I am open - minded to all types of trance (well except for happy hardcore and the cheesy stuff) and even other genres. I’m not saying that I know everything there is to know about trance. What I offer is devotion to the music and the willingness to learn more about what trance has to offer. I'm here to break the "hardly any female trance lovers out there" mold.
Hope I didn’t bore yall. Just wanted to leave my 2 cents.
:)
