Not bad. I think you need to bring in more percussive elements besides bd, hihat, and snare. The beat gets pretty redundant after a while. Also, I don't really care for the way the BD sounds, but that is a matter of taste. The snare needs to be crisper, IMO.
Unfortunately, the melody sounds extremely similar to: Tukan - Light a Rainbow. If I were you, I would totally rewrite this. The sounds you are using for the melody aren't too bad.
Overall, I think this track needs a a lot of work. Don't get discouraged. As a producer, you show potential. Just keep writing and you'll get better and better.

Where's the sound?
You need to fill up the empty spaces, it sounds very thin, takes away all the interest imo.
I think you have focused too much on the melody and the lead, maybe try focus on the kicks/perc/effects? It will bring much more to the track with some thick sound.
I don't really like the bassline, I didn't really notice it that well :(
Never give up, this one ain't finished yet, needs more work. But I believe you can do it :) |
