I don't watch TV.

So I guess you could say that without MTV, I don't know what is going on. But that has nothing to do with me wanting to know about Australia.

Does it make me a bad person to be interested in learning about a different country other than mine?

And do you know anything about Canada? I am sure that Australians have the same type of misconceptions and misunderstandings of Canada as the Canadians have of you.

I remember a TV show (CNNNNNN) that had a bit where they went up to Americans asking them questions about Australia. There was one time where they showed them a map of the 'World" and asked them to point out North and South Korea, but North Korea was Australia, and South Korea was Tasmania! Not one of them picked it out, one guy even said "I never realised North Korea was so much bigger than South Korea>"

Firstly, the pickle stays! want a smile?..:D theresa i'm sure u can't really be so naive as to think that we live like that? You have the internet so surely u r not that out of touch with the world.

Secondly, Canada has no culture hence no misconceptions from us:toothless I'll be nice when u grow up.

Yeah, I was gonna let it go one more page before I told you. We call them cities or towns.

Wallawoo is a word I made up, its not Aboriginal. There are actually about 150 Aboriginal languages, before European settlement, Australia was like Europe, split up into heaps of Aboriginal "countries", each with its own language.

I've been pissing myself though everytime you've referred to a 'Wallawoo', I was gonna tell you, it was just too funny.

Well, I have definitely learned what the people are like in Australia.

Apparently the nice people are few and far between. People have to hate on, and make a fool of other people for no good reason.

Jeez, I would understand if I was coming in here being negative and rude, but I wasn't. In fact I named the thread "Australia Appreciation Thread" because I wanted to learn how great this country was.

I thought that the people of Australia would jump at the chance to show me how great their country is, as everyone has pride in their home.

Instead, you people chose it as an opportunity to pick on me, and make me feel stupid :( That just makes me realize that perhaps the nature of Australia is great, but a lot of the people aren't, and that is too bad. What makes it worse, is that it's the same people who like the best music too :(

Thanks guys for supporting and representing your country and making someone on the opposite side of the world think badly towards your people. You did a great job.

(This is all in exception to vitamin v, whom I thank for leaving a little hope in me that not all Australians are pricks.)

You gotta understand the Australian sense of humour. We like playing on our stereotypes (hence the joke about Wallawoo, which you gotta admit was farkin funny).

There is a lot of hate in this area recently, its just a phase we're going through.

Come on over, we are a friendly bunch of people, we just joke around a lot.

(Jeez, one joke and I'm on your bad side:rolleyes: .......)
