Is this similar to lucid dreaming?

I do believe that it is a form of lucid dreaming, curious have you ever been at that state and seen yourself lying in bed?

No Dramin, I have never actually seen myself lying in bed but I once had the feeling that I had hold of my duvet and was drifting up against the bedroom wall! I wasn't trying to do this and I don't particularly want this experience again. I have also "semi-woken up" and over the right side of my head was a loud humming type sound that gradually died away. Right at the point that I ceased to hear the sound I woke up suddenly and was fully conscious. I got the feeling that someone (or something) was standing over me but I could not turn my head to see who or what it was. It was like a dark shadowy thing. This happened to me a year ago and thankfully it hasn't happened since!

Controlling yourself in anothers consciousness comes only after realizing that we are already in another a consciousness.

Thanx for all the replies peoples. I have conquered lucid dreaming from practice only. I like controlling what i dream and one day i will be able to enter anothers consciousness so then she might give me a chance. Haha i will reply with some experiences later well like this morning i had a dream that i seen my ex-wife in and i didnt want to see her so i changed her into someone else i wanted to see.

last night i think i learned a way of doing it pretty easily - have a melatonin - a herbal sleeping pill. if you don't know these things they are designed to pretty much slow down your brain and actually make you feel tired as well as making your muscles a lot less responsive to your brain (not relaxing them, just stops minor tension etc so that when you do relax you can sleep a lot easier) these things can put you to sleep in about half an hour, or if you fight them you can generally be awake for 1.5 hours, or even 2 - its pretty well a mindset thing. however after 1.5 hours of fighting, you can go to bed, close your eyes and actually think of stuff while it tries to send you to sleep. i did this last night and i gotta say the dreams i had were pretty fkn sweet - started off with me just being at a recovery lying down and talking about stuff with a girl i have got the biggest crush on - then the second dream (which was probably the longest) involved me on an island with a hoooj fkn mountain, friends on the island (including a couple au.ta's) and basically for some reason i had to get to the top of the mountain - think mario 64... kinda like that but much cooler. i was running around trying to find ways on top of houses, up cliffsides, mountain climbing, hand holds, little tunnels on how to get to hard to reach places and eventually when i got to the top there was some big bulky guy there with a knife who for some reason decided to charge me. i pull out this knife outta no where which looked fkn nuts - sorta like a mixture of a knuckle duster and a knife so the blade extended over my knuckles. i beat this guy's ass with only a small scratch on my hand and that dream ended... then it moved to another dream about me and this girl just going thru a walk in the forest, quite an enjoyable one at that...

Sounds fun. Is it hard to fight the pills' effects?

i still do, but i think connecting with reality too much- creating boundaries and limitations and basically coining definitions as to what reality is.......well that s up your mental capability as far as metaphysics might go.

regardless though, when i was a kid i used to be able to lucid dream almost every night i tried.

sometimes i couldnt, but for the most part i remember a ritual...

id say to myself, i want to be here.......and think about it until i slowly drifted off to sleep, and then id be there.......knowing i had thought about it prior, connecting that i was there NOW.....and realizing it was a dream that i could control...

i would always fly though...

every damn time.........i would fly.

when i hit like 9yrs old i stopped flying :(

now i just get high..

hehe same like me just without the dreams stuff...

Thats awesome bro that is what i like to hear. i had this dream the other night that i went to another friends house with a friend, And i had this box and wondering what was in that box? well in my dream i wanted it to be money and it was then i turned int o this spawn like creature and was fight for my friends' life's it was weird. the guy i was fighting looked like iceman or something. I guess it does have some sort of metaphoric meaning. well any way at the end i win and i turned back to my original self and find my G-moms cat in a Kroger. then it ended and i woke up. The main thing is that i controlled my dream to a point about the money in the box and turning into the spawn and fighting for my friends. something about me wanting money in the box triggered the rest of it.

I DID IT! I reached the third plateau last night. I went to places that have been on my subconcious mind for some time. I believe that I went to a dream pool as it is sometimes called. I seen it before i got there too. like there was a group of ppl in the distance and all around them was black like space. And they got closer and closer and then i was there. I talked to my ex-wife(she has really been on my mind lately) And other friends that are associated with her. I talked to this on friend that i met in Oklahoma while i was in the Army. It was cool, i liked it. Hopefully I can do this when i want to.

I can control my dreams and continue on a previous dream if I still have it clear in my head. Even if it's days after I first had it. Mostly it's about keeping your focus while falling asleep. It's pretty cool.
However, I mostly have scary dreams about demons and stuff, so I don't want to continue them. But when I have a good dream, I can continue it if I happen to wake up.

I haven't tried travelling to other places in my dreams. I should really try if it works too, sounds awesome. Maybe even tonight. :)
