| I once told someone that non-vocal trance is better than most vocals-laden pop/metal/rap songs about angst, loneliness, estrangement, etc etc where the singer tells us how he/she's searching for an identity...a feeling of belonging and so on and so forth...and it just so happens that singers like these are very successful, popular multi-millionaires and it kinda makes you wonder what makes them sing their songs of insecurity and alienation. |

"The music u listen to is boring because the intro haves 2 minutes..."
RESPONSE: "You need an intro to english... "haves"." |

| Why should another person's opinions bother you this much? |

you could always say ..
" i'm sorry that your mama dropped you on your ears when you were younger, causing you to be musically deficient. "
" i'm sorry that you had to grow up in the slums and listen to ghetto rap all your life. "
or you can always ask "if you don't like trance, yet you like classical music, are you dissing the music you like, because trance and classical music are almost at the same lines, when we are talking about style of songs? (exclude the progressive stuff, because they don't come in the lines of classical music) |

When you really think about it, doesn't everything taste like chicken anyways?
:toothless
I was once confronted by some kids about my trance-listening ways. When they asked me why I liked it and proceeded to tell me that "ANYBODY can make a techno song on their computer in just a few minutes" (oldest fallacious cliche in the book of trance) I replied with "well what kind of music do you listen to?" For some reason, that shut em all up - I guess they were at a loss for words in the presence of such Trance! :happy2:
But really - most of what people seem to want to listen thesedays ('pop' music by definition of 'POPular') consists of boring crap written by people who don't know dick about music. With trance, it's universal - it takes serious talent to make an electronic song sound really good and it takes even more talent to make one that people will find catchy and want to dance to. It doesn't matter what language you speak when it comes to trance - you don't need to understand what the song is trying to convey without words - it's open to interperetation and isn't limiting the listener to how somebody feels sad because their girl left them forever (or whatever crap you can think of to touch the hearts of young teenage school-girls). Most people who listen to trance, I mean really LISTEN, will come to understand something more about what makes us tranceaddicts tick - how many other kinds of music unite people in such a way? |
