I don't really need 'em. I've kinda thought about it. I don't use them too much, so a prosthetic wouldn't be too much of a change (though my foot and I have many memories :p). Plus, they'd ship me straight out if I lost what I needed to walk on, not if I lost some meat off of my ass.
That, and my ass is way too sexy to wound. |

Correction. :p
hehe anyways, seriously... Canada dont work as a draft dodge anymore, they set up a new system to bring you back... :(
Its either Mexico or Europe for me... maybe Japan I know some people I could probably lay low with. |
Isn't it with the border patrols? If it is, I'll be smuggling myself in. Just drop me off at one of those unguarded borders they had on the news a while back, book it across, and meet-up with someone. |

Of course, this is just rain on your delusional parade, but I have to opine.
The only party that has ever proposed resuming the draft is the Democrats. So it looks like you're voting for the wrong guy on this one.
FYI to all of the foreign readers who think this is actually a legitimate issue, the US will never have another draft. It's a bunch of trash talk to score points in the election. We got rid of compulsory military service for many of the same reasons that several European nations did...ahem...25 years or so later.
The specialization of forces, with technical training and skills just does not work with a drafted force. People need to want to do what they're doing. Most people in the US military today are there for a career. |

Well if you become a resident somehow then your safe, or say live up their not as a a resident and dont ever register with the SSS. If you never register with the SSS then you dont have to go. |
If there's a way for me to register and actually be able to get a job and stuff, hopefully it's easy. If not, I'll just stay there, under the radar. What sucks is that I'd have to find some way to get an education, i.e. college. :( |

Great points.
Also, if I remember correctly, the Democrats merely brought the issue up so as to enrage people about the very thought of the draft - this rage of course, to hopefully be focused upon the concept of our war on Iraq. :toothless
As such, everyone called their cousins up in Canada once they heard about it :stongue: :stongue: |

Draft wont happen though, and its the Democrats that bring it up also, it comes up EVERY year and is struck down very quickly. |
Good. It's kind of hard for me to see both sides of this, as I'm friends of people who are extremely political, and seem to blame Bush for everything, so I'm kind of blank as to what's actually going on. That, and my teachers all do the same thing. |

| I belive that somebody who dodges the draft should be sent to jail for a long time, even if times become bad be put to death. A draft would suck for everybody. If one guy had to die becuase he got drafted, what sense does it that the other person lives becuase it dogdeged it? Yes, you might not support the reason why you would be fighting a war that you don't belive in, but neither do the other thousands of people who are in. |
