Deep Dark Pads
View this Thread in Original format

Hi All,

I am looking for samples that are deep dark simple trance pads. Most pads I get from pro sample CDs are more involved and NOT simple... I want pads that have been used by Tiesto, and others..

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

A sample CD really isn't a good place to try finding these. Almost any decent VST can do these pads, just slap a chorus, reverb, and LP filter on it and tune to your liking.

Hey, thanks! What happens if I don't have a hardware synth?

I am using reason, but have TONES of samples...

if you cant make your own pads use search button and download presets what other TA members have made.

also download all refills and patches from net. try www.reasonstation.net for example.

and do like walsh said... becouse right effecting makes a lot.

but what it helps if he's using reason?
..if he wont rewire it to cubase or fruity..

Thanks all for your reply! But really, even though I use Reason, I almoast NEVER use subtraktor or Malstrom... I only use NNXT or NN19..

The pad I am refering is so typical in trance and yet no sample CD has it... Also, I am not refering to the Choir pads (those I have)...

Thanks,

No sample CD has any because it's trivial to make. Dust off your Subtractor and get to work =P

Yeah, seriously, Subtractor is your friend. It's so versatile- learn its secrets and it will treat you like a true friend. It will make pads, leads, bass, fx, and hell, you can even make kicks and percs and stuff with it, then export those files into Audacity (or your chosen wave editor) and eq and compress them for use in your Redrum. Check out the manual to learn the basics, then go snoop around online for more info.

Anyway, I am still not convinced Subtractor or Malstrom can sound the same as a hardware synth (fat and powerful)...

Sonicstyle
well, do you have high pads ?
if yes, just put a lowpass filter on them, and you have a deep and dark pad

I don't use Reason, but from what I've heard of those here that are brilliant with it, you'll have no problem creating the pad sound you want with the tools Reason provides you.

If you're expecting to find "PHAT PAD PRESET" you'll probably be unsuccessful, but with even the most limited use of a chorus, reverb and lowpass filtering on top of a saw waveform you can create your typical run of the mill trance pad.
