he has a similar sound...
i wouldnt call it an imitation or a knock off
or crap, for that matter

if youre referring to the 'breathe on me' dub/vocal mix combo, everybody's done it, from holden himself to ozgur to sasha, which im guessing is the reason why holden came up with his vox/dub mashup
mike_stefan69
im not referring to his production ability but the second part looks like a carbon copy of sasha's set at aria - in fact it looks exactly like the sets sasha (and nick warren to a lesser extent) have been playing all summer

if youre gonna play the same tracks at least play them in a different order ffs

Apart from the Britney Remixes, Way Out West - Killa and Kosmas's own remix of Wooden Swordz, Sasha has not been been playing any of these tracks (yet). Apart from that there are still 7 ID's in this part, so what are you on about? :conf:

Cheap immitation of Sasha? If thats true, then Sasha is now a cheap immitation of James Holden, Kosmas Epsilon, Petter, Nathan Fake, Ozgur Can and many of the other great djs/producers playing this style. Sasha is the last person I would think of to compare this too! =D

how can you compare petter and nathan fake to sasha as far as DJing is concerned? sasha's style is much more wide ranging, incorporating not just prog but house, electro and breaks too. and he can mix properly too. apart from possibly holden (who's mixing has only improved recently) all of the above are unproved as far as DJing is concerned. indeed the only reason they're DJing at all is because of their production work, which has nothing to do with their ability as a DJ (in terms of style and technical skill).

oh, and playing the same tracks in the same order with a vox/dub combo first started by sasha is immitation, no matter which way you look at it.

I'm not comparing them as djs at all - I dont think anyone would argue the point that Sasha is a much better dj then anyone I mentioned. This is a TRACKLISTING thread, I havent even heard the mix so all I can comment on is the tracklist.

Even your original quote said "this just looks like a cheap imitation of sasha". LOOKS like = reading, not listening too = Tracklist, not the mixing itself. If someone were to hand me a piece of paper with this tracklist written on it, Sasha would not even enter my mind.

And the vox/dub comment, yes Sasha and many djs have done that before. Not sure why he would ever get the credit for it though or why that would suddenly make you think that this mix is sasha-esque.

Once again, I havent heard the mix so I cant comment on the mixing. But you said it LOOKS LIKE a cheap immitation - I could not disagree more.

Wasn't Holden himself the first person to do that transition (just a thought ....)

using this same logic, how can you compare this to sasha?

yeah, he was the one who initiated the combo i think five or six months ago
sasha did it only once that i can recall, at aria
ozgur did it, sasha did it, kosmas did it, but you can't say they're imitating each other. not even holden. it's a great combo.
weak, weak argument.

turns to be quite funny, but in this case, let's make things clear... i just made the vox and the dub mixes into one track, to play it out in this way, as one readymade track!.. cuz i liked the drums of the dub, but also loved the melody of the original... if somebody listens to the mix, he will understand it ;)

cheers...
