Yeah thats kinda hard.
My dads the kinda guy that works all the time. As far as friends go, they're mainly business associates.
All his former drinking buddies and vanished with time. Plus he knew them in the states, he's in PR now.
So its practically impossible to know anything about him cept through my mom.
I went up to my dad one day and was like, "I know you did a lot of stuff in your day, so tell me"
and he's like "i dont know what you're talking about" and he laughs and walks away.
what an ass.:whip: |

my dad was single until he was 30. THEN he got married to my mom.
single for 30yrs...i can only imagine how much p00n he got.
Supposedly they called him the "latin lover" in his group of friends in the AirForce.
ghey nickname, but its the stories behind the nickname im interested in .... |
My dad was the same, but I'm quite ashamed of what I heard, and by far he's my anti-example in that matter: He was that much of a bastard, and is a clear case in which ignorance would be bliss. I can hardly respect him for what I've heard. As a matter of fact, my mother's family was completely against my father dating my mother in the beggining, and he's the first one to tell me that I should date other girls besides my girlfriend (still being with her) If he had any idea of how much my mother suffered  I can understand him though - his mother died when he was 5, and her father was hard as a rock, so he doesn't really know what feelings are (till this day).
Sorry if there was too much info...
As for the rest, he's a nice guy. Brigadeer of the air force now, he's done so much stuff that I find one new thing out every day. Good helicopter driver, used to rescue people all around; graduated in data processing; ... loads of stuff. |

| My "father" is a dead beat son of a bitch. I told him not to bother us 10 years ago, haven't seen him since. If I find out where he is, I am going to break his kneecaps with my bat. Then spit on him and say "How you like them apples, biatch?" |

| My dad is a stupid, selfish prick and I think his purposes in this world only concisted out of making my sis and me, cheating on my mom while she was pregnant and than leave us with nothing. I haven't seen the guy for 10 years now, and I really don't give a damn about his sorry ass.... In my eyes he doesn't excist anymore.... |

You know, if anything........
if we can learn something from this thread..
from all the people that are proud of their fathers/mothers
and from all the people that are hateful and bitter and wish their dad had broken knee caps, or would suffer like they made them suffer...
if we can learn anything from this its that being a parent matters...
no matter how you look at it your parents have shaped you- even if they werent there. That emptiness did something.
Im going to make sure im a great father. I will love my child.
this i know. |

President of Europe, Middle East and Africa for a software company based out of Colorado Springs, CO.
Spends a lot of time flying to different customers within afforementioned territories (although Africa might as well be South Africa) and also flying from UK to Denver around eight times a year for board meetings and the like.
When I was at school (11-18yrs, British school!) he often wasn't about due to his travelling but when he did show up he made quite a scene and because of the size of my school (350 people across the ages of 11-18yrs) rumours and stories spread like wildfire. He'd come to PTA meetings and he'd kick up a right storm and one time he had just flown back from Denver and had come up to school to surprise me. This Aston Martin with tinted windows was parked up outside my boarding house and a very well respected sportsman within the school (captain of rugby) kicks a ball that knocks the side of the car. He gets out and shouts down this 6ft 4in, 250 lb to within an inch of crying! My friends loved my Dad for things like this and the fact my friends can have a good laugh with him too
He does pretty well for himself and I'm very proud of him! I'm just sorry to hear so many people on there think their Dad's are asses, although that does make me appreciate him more. |

My dad works as a manager in a company that makes parts for formula 1 cars (Mclaren I think), porsche sport cars they also make some parts for oceanliners i think, well I'm not too much in contact with him these day, but we still live under same roof :P.
When I was young we used to go flying my dad and I with a cessna one engine plane, it was cool. Nowdays he is too busy for that. I think I'm as stubborn and sometimes as irritating as my dad, but atleast he taught me howto build things and how to do forestry work etc..
Nice dad all in all, not around, but I got to have all kinds of cool things :P and a good perspective of the world. ;) |
