So I have an extra copy of the Tiesto white label for sale on eBay (frind said he didn't want it after all...no biggie, thought I could easily sell it on eBay... and I was right... had 4 bids on it and climbing...). Anyway, 4 bids are on it as I said, and then I get this e-mail...

WTF? Why can places like Dancegrooves, Juno, Chemical Records, etc sell this, but I can't? I just want to sell off my extra copy...

You can still sell white labels as long as the label representing any of the artists doesn't complain. I'm sure a few years down the line you could probably sell this on eBay. It's just that now they are looking for them because the record has just been released. |

Already sold...
I just found it annoying that I see SOOOOOO many promos with "Not For Resale" written on them, and SOOOOO many white labels for sale. The ONE time I sell a freaking white label, I get that e-mail...WTF!

I was selling double 12"s of the Dj danger mouse/Jay z/Beatles- grey album a whie back.
They were soooo sought after and selling for 50/60 ukpounds each- i had one of those warnings from capitol records, and relisted it.
i got away with selling 2 before it happened again, the final time being from the anti piracy unit at the bpi( british phonographic institute)
I was suspended from ebay for a few weeks- and to get reinstated i had to send ebay in the post:
Copy of my driving licence
Copy of 2 home bills with my address on
A signed statement stating ' i will not sell any items that infringe a third parties intellectual or other rights on ebay- if i do i accept my account will be terminated permanently and without warning or appeal'
It took ages and was a ball ache, and i was stuck with 4 copies i couldnt list on ebay.

So ive just ended the copies of this i was selling, as i cant risk it happening again.
I thought it might happen with this- as maverick (madonnas label) are really up on it and surf ebay every day looking for such items. Or it could be radioheads label, but i suspect its madonnas, as maverick is connected to warner and impretty sure radiohead are on sony
Arguing with ebay is pointless over this- they just tell you to contact the company that complained.
It doesnt mater that you can buy them in shops, and that you have legitimately purchased them for cash- ebay is a no go zone if they say so, and there is nothing you can do about it.
p.s- i have 4 brand new copies here going cheap if anyone wants one- will ship worldwide+i accept paypal.
