Got a handfull of 12" Test Presses, which are individuallly hand numbered in Gold pen. Tracklisting as follows: A: Talisman & Hudson: Leaving Planet Earth. AA: Amoebaassassin: Pliedriver (Grayed Out Mix).
The sound quality is excellent. Any thoughts on this 12"? |

Well both of those tracks are amazing. They are high on my top trance tracks list.

| Yeah, both really fantastic tracks. Leaving planet earth maybe my favourite of these, great feeling in it. |

How is this a test press when the songs came out at completely different times? Talisman & Hudson was released around 96/97 and Piledriver was only used in 99.
Am I missing something??? |

The term "Test Press" means that it is the first pressing of a record. As the stamper which presses the record is being used for the first time, the reproduction is usually better than any further presses. The idea that the record will wear out quickly, or quicker than a release version is wrong. The records that wear out quick are "acetates", which are brittle, almost like a hard china substance & are only good for 3 or 4 plays. The other problem occurs when vinyl is recycled, melted down (labels & all) & reformed. That's when you see small holes in the surface appearing. These are definately not that.
If this was a poor sounding regular White label, I wouldn't be talking about it!
Be assured these tracks have been pressed somewhere very proffesional on best quality vinyl. My eBay feedback should speak for itself. My id is "vinylfantasy". If anyone needs further info about this record I can be contacted at [email protected] . |
