Sony Handycam DCR-HC20 (uploading movies?)

hey guys,
i recently purchased a Sony Handycam DCR-HC20 and am trying to upload a 2 minute video i record into my pc. ive been told by the sony sales rep that its as simple as plugging the usb from the camcorder into the pc (just like a digital camera). now with my camera i have no problems uploading pics & movie bits but for some reason its not as easy with this handycam. i have windows xp & have installed the cd software that came with it.
does anyone out there have this camcorder and if so, can you help out a fellow canadian who is getting his ass kicked by all this !

i would use adobe premiere - capture.
than capture the 2 minutes off your camera while it's plugged in with the usb/firewire cable. than export it for .wmv or .avi compressed footage. making sure that the drivers are loaded first, and it is detected.
you can also use windows xp - video capture/record feature
it's not so great. |
