Hmmm.. usually it's pretty fast when I download.. the odd time it's a bit slower than usual. :)
speaking of portuguese.. I am actually listening to a DJ Vibe set @ Space in Ibiza from August right now.. hehe
I always like seeing house djs throw down some techno tracks in their sets! ;)
Can you say Intec 29!?? well.. not in this set, but it wouldn't be out of place. |

Varela is definitely on my top 5 of techno djs I REALLY want to check out.. I missed his set when he played a Ray Junior party a few years back, but I don't recall any other time he has played these parts.
I'm usually more a fan of his dj'ing than productions, but give the man 3 or 4 turntables and watch him put on a show!! w00t :eyespop: |

or maybe its because of smart asses like you who go and tell the djs about it... i almost forgot that. |
Iit is illegal to record without artist permission, so why shouldn't the DJs be made aware that they have been recorded? |

| so I'll put you in the spot, WHAT IF I to had an "illegal" Misstress Barbara recorded set at Aria, would you want to get a copy? |

while I don't pretend to know all the legalities of recording/hosting sets.. as far as I am concerned, as long as they are not sharing copyrighted material (mixed compilations etc..), *ideally* they should be in the clear.
I know this is not the case, but the only reasons that come to my mind why an artist would NOT want their set to be shared with the masses, is if they can't mix worth crap and they have reason to be concerned their 'image' will be tarnished, or they have unreleased material in the set blah blah blah...
well, as far as I can tell with Technopride (though I agree with preach they most likely just don't give a ) they tend to host sets only that are worthy of downloading anyway by artists that spend more time comfortably riding 3 dex than worrying about trainwrecking. They also regularly offer exclusive sets provided by djs for the site.
The unreleased material argument I can't comment much on, except that the sets they usually host aren't recorded 1 week ago.. like that Beyer set.. promolicious at the time but I have like 6 tracks from it by now.
When djs bitch about these sets being shared, I hope they sit back for a minute and reflect on how they are in a position to command a very respectable booking fee, they don't go 'global' by working hard everyday and playing to the same crowd in the same city. ;)
share da tekno beats! (not gabriel and dresden.. hehe)
my 2¢

you have to remember that techno djs dont care much or probably dont have the time check on stuff like this. and its not like the problems malek had because techno music its released extremly fast to everyone as promos. and not like for example the dresden incident. when the set had tracks wich till now are not released. plus they have the time to check up on everything. but for the majority i have seen techno djs dont care for the sets.
other thing can be that the site is portuguese and hosts sets from around the world, wich most probably they didnt record. and malek site well its easy to point him out if he hosts a set.
anyway this is a neverending topic :P |

w00t w00t a Raul cameo!! :D
you're right.. neverending topic.. kinda like analog vs. digital
SO I think instead of dicussing this further you should be ID'ing some tracks for me.. hehe :tongue3
I'm bugging of course. ;) |

| The track they were talking about (G & D) I think was No one on earth which spent like 6 months doing the rounds before being pressed onto vinyl! So not like techno if time is quick in this case |
