Death and dying

Despite having a ty day to begin with, further affirmation of my mortality came quick to me today.
We have 2 Nubian goats - also known as pygmy goats - just minitaure variants of goats is all; sorta like the little baby goats you'll find at petting zoos. One of our goats had been acting very strangely since last night when he began having screaming fits at what seemed to be the top of his lungs. This morning, he was found on his side, struggling to just stay alive. I poured vegetable oil and water down his throat and tried to get him to walk, but he just wouldn't have it - this goat didn't feel good at all. Despite all my efforts at trying to get him to stand and walk around and live, at about 2:30 today he died. I found his stiff corpse laying stretched-out in his l'il goat house - I promptly bagged him and buried him. RIP Buckwheat the Goat.
I feel sorry for the other one as well - he lost his only friend in this world, and even if we went out and got him a nubile female goat, he's got no... ya know... means for an "end" :toothless
I know this is a corny story about my goat dying, in fact I feel like a tool for even posting it, but it was a pet to me- it's sorta like your puppy dying when it's only 3 months old :(
I hate to dig up old memories, but have any of you had any pets or loved-ones die recently? |

A sad story for sure, but I to tell the truth I did laugh out loud when I red the words 'pet goat'. :haha:
Bless ya. :p
I had a rabbit called Roger (:p) but he died when I was 6. I cried a lot. Poor me. :(
Man I loved that rabbit, he was bigger than me. :D |

I feel sorry for the loss of your pets. Relatives are harder to take.

Yeah - those'll make you really feel like death is on your front door :nervous:
Harder to talk about with perfect strangers, though - that's why I thought some of use could deal with death in a more controlled manner.
Oh, and I'm sorry about your bunny, streakfury - I had a rabbit when I was 5... it bit my mom's finger and ran off into a dust storm in Oklahoma :stongue: |

Have you ever noticed how whenever you own a dog, you treat it well, you feed it, keep it clean, give it a warm basket and so on. But every time you open the back gate or someone knocks at the door, the thing just bolts out the door like there's no tomorrow?? Where do they think they're going exactly?? And the best bit is if you leave them to do a runner, about 50 meters down the road, they realise they cant see where you are any more (because of their bad eyesight) and come running straight back again!!
What an age we live in. |
