pffffft...how about you stop posting your number on the wall of every bathroom in the club district
(seriously though...that's rather shady if someone's using a guestlist to pilfer phone numbers for text msg advertising).
I can't wait until the "do not call" list option becomes a reality (haven't they set a date yet?) |

yeah..they need to do something about those.
Even if its some stupid contest, they need to stop. I remember that I entered some draw at the Skydome (Rogers Centre...) for the Jays game, and they would text me every other day. They did say either how to stop it. Some how I eventually figured it out, but thankfully that was when I had like 200 free incoming/outgoing messages a month.
You want to hear about bad charges, when I lived in Montreal three ago during the summer, I had over $50 worth of charges from text messages. This was with Telus.
Apparently, if you send a text message to my phone from the telus website (you can send a txt msg from any of the carriers sites) they would charge the recipient. I got charged $0.25 for every text message I received.
It did say in fine print on some other page that their was a fee...but does anyone read the terms and conditions? |

those people who are on fido and are getting charged for incoming messages should call and straighten things out. they shouldnt be doing it.
im on their monthly plan and dont get charged for incoming messages. only the ones i send, i think its like 15 cents per message.
from the fido website...
| quote: | Receiving text messages
Most handsets will beep and display an icon that looks like an envelope when you have a message in your inbox. Just select the icon to read the message. Text messages are automatically saved in the Message menu on your handset. You can save, delete, reply to or forward your text messages.
Cost:
• Text messages received are free.
• Fido customers are charged 15¢ per incoming Web-based text message, or less if they subscribe to a Text Messaging option
