| In the U.K, some DJs like John Digweed sometimes have their gigs at the universities. I saw John had a gig at some university in the U.K few years ago from his website. My question is why can't this also be in the U.S? I see some music TVs like MTV often have their college(University) tours around the nation. I assume that EDM stuffs have not categorized yet ones like Hip-Hop,Rock,Industrial Top 40s in a college around the states. But I just want things like a university tour in the U.K to be happended in the states. Bring awesome DJs into the College! Let them rock the crowds in the college! Later, college kids will awe of EDM... |

o man, that would totally be awesome.
if a trance dj came to columbia, though, it would get a really bad turnout, i think. unless it was an outdoor thing... but usually when they have outdoor concerts, they get people like They Might Be Giants and Ben Folds.
every year at dance marathon, which is a 24-hour (or 36 hour? can't remember) dance-a-thon for AIDS research i believe, they have at least a few hours dedicated to EDM, so that is nice. we've got a prog DJ who is a junior this yr at the school who spun the year I went.

perhaps if non-columbia people were allowed ;) man if they tried to pull it off at my old school or any other school in philly for that matter, they'd probably get laughed at... |

| keep in mind the american genre of choice is pop/rock/alternative/rap. Trust me, if we have radio stations like z100 playing Ferry Corsten Live@Trance energy, or anything remotely close to ID&T, we'd see visibility of EDM Artist playing universities. But heed us not, do you think the American Way would spring for "drug induced" music? Remember this is how our society views this genre. Sad as it may be...we should all leave this hole! Land of the free my ass...ever heard of a jay walking ticket? How ing free is that(not that i've gotten one but the fact that it was even thought of) |
