but yeah from an article I read it said the economic growth in austrailia managed to overshadow the austrailian involvement in iraq during the campaign. forgot the link but maybe ill find it later |

| From what I have gathered reading different sources Australia was focused moreso on the domestic front in the electioneering than on Iraq. When you consider that I don't believe any Australian has died in Iraq in combat and the process for them has been on a much smaller scale of involvement, albeit from day one, Iraq was at best a secondary component in the voters decision making. Maybe if Australians were obsessed with war and terror and not focused on their domestic issues then Iraq would have been a factor there, frankly it didn't seem to be. |
