I've said it many times before and I'll say it again:
v700s suck. They are flimsy pieces of . I took perfect care of mine and first they began to crack, then the right channel died for no reason, then they cracked completely. Worst $100 I ever spent. Not to mention they sound like compared to many other headphones.
Afterwards I bought some sony mdr v7506 and never looked back. I can't beleive these come from the same company. It's like night and day. They are solid and will indeed last you forever - I've heard of pairs lasting well over 10 years, that just need their earcup pads replaced once and a while (cheap, cost like $9 per pad) |

| Yeah 7506s are amazing, 7509s are supposed to be even more so but they're $180+ |

v700s are by far my fave headphones to play out in, i've used the hdj1000s out and the 700s are by far better for playing out.
if u are just using them in the house, imo, get some cheaper better hi-definition headphones that aren't so bass heavy + aren't quite so flexible as they will last longer.

| yeah man. what you gotta do is when you get them, just turn on some bass heavy music and play it on really high volume for like 24 hours. then they'll be good |

| I doubt that I'd buy 700's after my experience with 500's... |
