haha that's cute
i meant, did it have any distinguishable qualities to it, cause i've been following zabiela almost obsessively lately. |

Great night for sure.......
Drove up from NY with Jenn and Terry in their limo after the wedding reception and was in guv around 1:30.
I have never seen Sasha or Zabiela b4, thought they were great, especially after 5 when they were spinning 2gether. Good times as always.
Need to rest up for Armin now....see you all soon!!!

this was just great :)
I'm really really happy I made the trip up from Cleveland for this
A little sad I didn't get to hang out with too many of the TA's but it was still great meeting some of you :p
thanks ezekiel for the hookup with tixx ;)
And if Jz & Sasha hadn't slammed it so hard I could have stayed till the end but you have to admit they were playing so hard ... had I been blind folded and was told Diggers and Sasha were playing together I wouldn't have really recognized Sasha's melodic hands up in the air style at all ( or barely ).
I'll be back in TO! |

Does anyone know what mixer they were using?
I am assuming an Allen & Heath but I can't pin point the specific model...
It was a four channel with a sampler section on the right
And what kind of effects processor was Sasha using? ( they put it on top of the mixer ). |

this was part 2 of this most insane weekend...
awesome awesome night....
i personally liked sasha's set earlier in the summer but last night..he blew that performance outta the water...
as for Zabiela... :) quickly rising as one of my favourites...love the way he "mixes" it up...really nice guy too. |

very good night indeed. one of the best times i have seen sasha, he rocked it out really hard and really got in the groove. its just too bad the crowd wasnt really into it, cause it would have pushed this party over the edge. its always good to see the familiar faces that i havent seen in a while, and its alwys great meeting some new peeps that were out.
i was talking with sasha at the end of the night, and he told me that his set plus the back to back with zabiela was all recorded on his mp3 player and should be up on his site by the end of the week. |

hey now, james is by far a brilliant dj there is no question about that. the he does up there is unreal. put me up there & ask me to do what hes doing and ill start crying :haha:. the only thing i dislike is the manipulation of the tracks (on a regular basis). when i saw zabiela the first time @ labour of love i was really impressed with what he was doing. i remember standing there just blown away (at first) he was scratching it up, adding effects, manipulating the tracks but after a while hearing that over & over again i just lost my groove, the progression & flow of a set. this is the ONLY reason i cant get into zabielas sets.

that reminds me...i didnt see Raiban last night....hmmm how could that be..... |
ya i was there....where were you? :whip:
ok, now as for my review...
we got there around 3ish and caught the last couple of tracks that james played which sounded really good. next up is sasha. sasha's selection for the first hour was rather strange. very similar to his first hour @ aria for his involver tour. it almost seemed as though he was experimenting with new sounds. anyway, at that point we were having a hard time finding a decent spot to let loose. the guvernment was RAMMED!!! saw a few friendly faces there (ray & marg, tremblay).
ok, back to sasha set. i dont know what it was folks, i could not get into sasha set. as much as i was dying to get into it i just couldnt :( . sasha did not play his "traditional sound". not enough trance. sasha also looked really sick on stage (literally, not slang for WICKED) :stongue:. he looked like he needed to be in bed. poor guy...
i was sadly disappointed with this night. no vibe, the music was a lot different than i had expected & it was a bit too rammed for me. catching sasha & zabiela doing the tag-team vs thing made me realize that sasha works best with one other man, DIGWEED!!! only these 2 can create magic! i think that digweed keeps sasha on his toes constantly shifting gears higher & higher!!!
anyway, hopefully next time...*siiiiigh*
p.s. zabiela does this cute thing as he spins. he does this lil hop...:stongue: its soooooooooo cute!!! everytime he did it i wanted to pat him on his lil head :D |
