OMG! I was planning on hitting Buenos Aires/Rio de Janeiro in January anyhow, and this party is on my birthday!!
hmm, this would be perfect actually, go for the party, check out South America for a bit in the meantime, catch New Years in Rio...
and I had no idea flights were so cheap!
would anyone else be interested in going, because I am seriously thinking about it! |

Dec. 11 is too early for me... I'd hit it the last week of December, and come back the first week of January (unlike some of us here that actually don't have any ties and responsibilities and can do whatever the hell they want).
And how much would the flights be from T.O. anyway? (Let's just say going across the border to US is not an option at the moment). |

Then expect to pay $2000
$1500 is the normal toronto price (which is why i fly from buffalo) and then add 25% for the christmas season or more.
Never fly from canada and NEVER fly over christmas. The 2 golden rules of bargain flying. |

Why you would eat Mcdonalds in Argentina is beyond me. You can have a steak fit for a king and enough wine to get you drunk in a nice restaurant for $5. But im sure you remember how well you ate when you were there. ;) ;)
About the conference. I am going to try to make both that and creamfields, my flight home is december 21st and that would be a pretty sick way to end it. The only thing is I was planning a trip to the south, torres del paine and moreno glacier and the conference might cut in the middle of it. Anyway, creamfields lineup is ok but nothing spectacular for the biggest festival in the americas (that i know of.. maybe with the exception of san fran love parade). Here is what they have:

-James Zabiela
-Hernan Cattaneo
-Deep Dish
-Jeff Miles
-Steve Lawler
-Plump's DJ (live act)
-Paul Oakenfold
-Erick Morillo
Obviously not bad but compared to the massives in england its nothing spectacular. Still going to try and hit it though, that and Boca River on the 7th. But i still have no idea how to get tickets here. They dont sell them on the web.
And ya you are right about argentina, i think nick warren said his best party experience ever was creamfields argentina 2003.
Crazy Serb: If you are a student go look into travel cuts. They have surprisingly good deals. I got a one year open ended round trip flight to santiago for $1300 and air canada was quoting me $3000.
The best place in the world to teach english is South Korea. 2000 american a month and they give you room and board. Then 3000 more a month teaching privately on the side (illegal but still done). And the cost of living is MUCH cheaper than tokyo. So work for a couple of months save up some cash and buy yourself an around the world flight and backpack till the money runs out, go back a do it again. Iv met enough people who have done it... |

As for the mcdonalds thing. I just use that as a simple guide when comparing costs since its everywhere and usually reflects the costs of other things.
For example. Mcdonalds here is $7, there its $2 and in europe its $15.
That is pretty much how you will find prices of other things in those respective places as well.
You can have a steak dinner and eat like a king for 5 - 10 canadian. 15 if the place is really really expensive |

he might have just meant good house party rather than good house party. who knows though
ya i knew what you meant about mcdicks i just love eating meat there. breakfast lunch and dinner.
well id love to meat some of you down here so let me know if you come.
