My friend and I just got a gig to start spinning 8 hour sets almost every sat. night on the roof of this club.
its a really big roof where everyone goes to smoke and is where the VIP lounge is. the main DJ's play downstairs in the main theatre
I'm going to be playing a range of music, but all chilled out stuff.
Mainly ambient, jazzy loungy stuff, trip hop, chilled out house and trance and whatever
artists ranging from boards of canada, nathan fake, petter, global communication, sultan, sasha (ADD and Baja and Rabittweed) and whatever
anyway 8 hours is a very very very long time, so i was wondering if any of you could throw out some suggestsions of other songs/artists/albums to check out so i can throw them down because i really need to build up my music collection if i'm going to be spinning for 8 hours every sat. night

thanks

Woob - On Earth (The Big Mix)

This is a 30 minute ambient tune. You can put this on and have time to go take a . In 8 hours you may need a ... not sure but think it may be quite rare. And only if you are spinning CD's!

Any Chicane.

Maybe check out his website too and see if he has a top ten or tracklists etc.........

DJ Hooligan - Hear you now (Grand Chillas Mix) is also a good one.

Classic :D lmao

As for ambient, maybe check the older stuff by guys like Pete Namlook and Brian Eno. It may not be perfect for what you are looking for, maybe too ambient as in like no beat at all in some tracks.

EDIT: Also Bill Laswell and don't discount Moby as he has a lot of ambient works. Also everyone has gotta show respect to Ulrich Schnauss and Shpongle but I am sure you are all over those two :)

try the GU and northern exposure series.

stick to deep house/progressive.

if you play chillout for 8 hours both of you are gonna pass out.

however, in the event that you're looking for chillout...
