Bush because the other options are sh!tty. We need more choices in America not just A or B. I wish Nader was invited to the debates. What a f#cked up democracy we have when we only have two choices for president. :(
Why I wont vote for Kerry:
1)Kerry doesnt stand firm on his principles. He seems to move towards what political is good for him. He was first pro war than decided to change his mind when he realized it would help him gain more liberal votes. WTF is that all about?
2) Kerry doesnt really have any detailed plans on how to fix the US economy, education system, or foreign trade policy. I was looking for something to presuade me to vote for him cuz bush has done a sh!tty job in regards to the latter but Kerry hasnt convinced me that he can do any better
3) I strongly feel we need a president that will reform the way corperations run american politics. I doubt Kerry ( or Bush for that matter) would do anything to change this Cancer we have in our Democracy. The only person who would really change things would be Nader or some independent party.
4) I looked at both Kerry's and Bush long-term record and they both suck. However something stood out for me for Kerry. Kerry has a long record in the senate of being a very very liberal senator. I personally do not argree with him on aborstion and find it funny how he claims to be Catholic yet doesnt practice his faith in his daily life. If your Catholic you should stand strong and firm in your beleifs and not change them for polictical reasons. Bush wins here imo.
5) We went to Iraq so now what? We cant leave because it would be a in mess. And the French and Germans arent going to come regardless whos president becuase they dont want to alienate their Muslim populations in their countries ( which is the highest in Europe). Thus we have to fix the problem we started ourselves. Kerry doesnt have a plan outside of trying to bring in other countries to solve this mess. I think Bush is a biut more realstic is saying that Kerry is naive.
6) Bush ed up by going to Iraq. But we only now know this in retrospect. In 20-30 yrs. from now we might say Bush was smart becuase he got america a central command zone for the american army in the middle east. he got us the 2nd largest oil reserves, etc. When we destroyed German in WWII it didnt take 5 months to rebuild the country. It took 30 in yrs !! So once again we fail to realize the time it takes to fight and complete wars.
7) Regarding the economy . I dont think any president could have saved us from this!! WE had a huge bubble economy via the stock market and it collapsed. WE had 7 fat years now we need to realize that was a joke economy and it wont happen again. Remeber the NASDAQ and those IPO's. Even my friends were making few $$$ with that crazy market. Remeber those crazy internet jobs or computer jobs thatpaid $100,000!!! This was crazy !! Point is this was a historical fluke in economy and it was bound to end someday.
I think Bush did an OK job given the follwing event he had no control over:
1)Stock Market Collapse casue by the bubble economy
2)Terrorist Attacks
3 )Anti - American Sentiment in Europe

Nice post, Dave ;)
I, personally, will be voting for Michael Badnarik. I know it will be absolutely useless in the long run, but maybe I can cancel-out one of those votes for Kerry :toothless

There are roughly 20 legitimate (on balots in 5 or more states) candidates for President this year.
To narrow it down to Bush/Kerry is just that: a narrow point of view.
Americans should consider third party and write-in candidates as a more viable option. Alot of people Ive talked to who are not party members (and some who are) dont seem to feel that either of these candidates is ideal. For instance, I feel alot of people would vote for John Mccain across and outside of party lines were he to run. I really wish Mccain would organize a third, centrist party, but I just dont see it happening :( |
