| right.. i accidentally deleted 500 fonts from my works computer on friday.. and it contained lots of 'paid for' fonts.. like all the gill sans family etc etc.. and i cant find where i can get them again free. cos obviously my boss dosnt wanna pay for them again, as they cost about 300 quid to buy. anyone have any font packs or know anywhere i can download a lot fo the standard TTF fonts?.. my balls are |--| close to the bandsaw :( |

i know this is prob obvious, but didnt it come with a cd or anything, or were they downloaded once paid for?

| the company should have made CD back ups of the fonts really. What would they do if the computer got smashed by a building collapse or a power searched wiped the hard drive. Also whe nyou buy a font do you not recieve a receipt of some sort to get the fonts back if they are deleted? |

yeah mate they were D/L'ed and paid for.
i dont think theres a backup disc or anything with them on either :(
how it happened.. we have 4 PCs in our design room.. and we just got a new one... and one PC that had the majrity of our fonts on.. i copied them out of the font folder into a folder on the desktop... grabbed them ion to the new PC thru netwrk.. then copied the fonts back from the desktop folder i made back into the fonts folder in windows... but sumhow hey didnt all copy back... and they folder i created, sumone deleted.... so we now have 700 fonts instead of 1200ish :nervous: |

| if u can find out the name of the software they came on, like "Font Fantasic 456436636" or whatever its called, im sure one of us can find it somewhere. |

| im sure they were adobe fonts [so i was told] .. but not the ones that came with the software.. i think theyre all the sans family and a lot of other basic ones |

| so the only clue to what fonts you had was that they were from the sans family? no record of what fonts were actually downloaded and paid for? |

lol no not really mate.... apparently they were adobe fonts.. cos you have to use the adobe font transferer thingy to transfer them back into fonts folder.. and i didnt do that.... so the emaining adobe fonts were left in the folder i created.. which then got deleted.
but i imaginetheyre all basicy fonts.. like sansy stuff |

| u dont pay £300 for a once only downloadable file and not back it up atleast once on a cd-r or something like that. well if you do, you're stupid. but without proper information on their names, i cant really help u. without downloading every font pack or font i can find. |
