i do own downloaded tunes but i do buy the ones i like most on vinyl but the fact is these record labels release to much bollocks quantity over quality cose they want to make as much money as possible. Perhaps if they concentrated on releasing more top quality tracks and less then people would be more inspired to go out and buy the track that they like rather than download it

the states suck when it comes to importing music from labels ouside of here, and plus i dont have my own credit card to buy em from the internet :sadgreen: anyway i dont work, i just enjoy what i can listen to whenever a good tune comes around. so basically i dont know what i would associate myself as.

YOU'RE STUPID!

DJ Rat 187
I just buy good albums (no reason to buy ty albums and then regret it) and get the tracks that I can't get because they aren't out on CD, just floating around, and I don't have turntables so no vinyl for me.

I download a lot: almost 19/20 of my albums are downloaded; but if I find them on sale on record shops around here I don't hesitate and I buy them.
Portugal isn't exactly a trancy country, so, it's hard to find around here the CD's/compilations I most like, and to buy them online is a bit expensive for my posessions, my credit card isn't exactly filled up and I don't work (yet ;) still trying to graduate). And I don't have great use for vinyls...
To summarize: I support as I can, but... heck, if it weren't for mp3's, I wouldn't even be here.

I think I'm more of a mix of the types #2 and #3. I used to dl lots and I've downloaded mp3 since 1996-1997. Nowdays I want to own the record and especially in vinyl format. It's fun to look at the covers and to have the real album there in your shelf, everyone doesn't think like this, but hey it grew on me and now I'm a crazy collector :)

I think I'm goin' to buy my first larger set of cds soon (all the GU mixes), those are going to cost a lot, but hey it's only money and besides you can't get good rips of the albums anywhere

Dl less, so you won't become bored of trance music, thus helping the industry. Downloading is hurting the electronic music most, because most "comp geeks" listen to it. I'm not suggesting you should buy bad music :thepirate yarr

#2. The only CD's I actually burn are ones that are either too expensive or arent available.

I have zero sympathy for the big labels who are crying poor because their merciless gouging has caught up with them. It costs about $5 to make and distribute a cd. The rest is profit. They treat the art of music just like a product and wish we would all line up like sheep and buy the next disposable pop album. But it ain't gonna happen. Radio nor cassettes killed music and nor will mp3's. They are simply means of distribution of stuff we like which IF it's good enough we will go out and buy and tell our friends to buy. They churn out crap then whine when we seek better, newer, fresher sounds on our own. Resist the corporate influences! Download then buy IF you like it.

1st of all take that thing out of ur avatar.
2nd - it does affect record saled because people might download the song first, then they might not like it or something. So if there were no such thing as filesharing, people would've bought the record, then they would be stuck with it.

I go with MP3s. Listen some, trash a pile, save a tiny bit. Lots of trash out there and record labels can't expect any sales unless someone hears it first through MP3 or otherwise. I normally trim the songs I d/l anyhow so I don't listen to 30 sec of lead in and trailing dumbass drumbeats.
