Im no Nancy reagan but ive been partying since around 92 and ive never taken a pill in my life. Its a personal choice. I love the music and thats good enough for me. Sure this means that i usually cut out around 5 or 6 but it beats being cracker jacked for the next 3 days after being at comfort zone all afternoon. By 6 ive had enough usually and ive gotten my moneys worth (unless its unbelievably great and then i stay)

People who take pills and go for the music arent nec going because of the drugs but use them to enhance. Thats OK because i drink booze and have energy drinks and that does me fine. To each their own. The problem is when people come for the drugs and then the music becomes an after thought.

I saw a whole bunch of cracked out older Asian people passed out, with their heads in one of the horn speakers on the floor. Jesus christ that blew my mind, why do people do that to themselves?

Originally posted by dance2dabeat I guess the reason for this whole thread today is how do you guys deal with this sort of thing... I know I can't be the only one. In conclusion,if there were no music....well there definately would be no point to drugs. It really is all about the music!!:happy2:

I guess there's no point in stressing about it, people have different tastes and different likes etc...I guess that's what is part of being human, everybody is different.

I think you've expressed in your post something alot if not most of us in the scene also feel.

Look at it this way: Next time you're in the club, dancing and listening to the music, look around and see all the people that are feeling the music and digging the vibe. You're certainly not alone!

I'm sure people would still use drugs without music...but I get what you're saying.

Ahh seems like we have a few people who are experiencing the love affair with ecstasy. OR should i say, the joys of the honeymoon period which in my opinion is the best part of the whole E experience :)

Take it from someone who did his fair share, and now only drops on a 4-5 month basis, the key is what i suspect many of your dropping buddies will share with you. Moderation. It's easy the first few times to believe that there's nothing better then being lifted when you've done your roll. Everything just seems better, the music, the human contact, the vibe, the colors. Enjoy it the first few times, because truth be told the magic does ware off even if you regulate it.

What you can gain from doing E however is a certain perspective that i don't think you can truely achieve unless you have felt that euphoria that comes via rolling, and the great thing is -- you can actually carry that feeling long after comming off the high. The memories i've had when i first did E are some of the best ones i can remember. The friends i made during those experiences all agree that sharing that experience transformed an ordinary night into a truly magical one.

To have friends that tell you that you're better then a drug is a blessing. Because it's true. But that shouldn't stop you from doing it. If anything, i'd feel more comfortable knowing that there's an additional security buffer to warn me if i ever started dropping too often. I think as an adult you should be aware of the risks, but you should also be open to the many experiences (positive and negative) that come through using E. As long as you're safe, and make sure you get good dope and are surrounded by a knowledgable group of people who will look after you if things go bad then the risks you face are not much greater then if you went on to the bar for a crazy party (yes - i know ppl will disagree here, but this is just my opinion )

Ultimately it's the music that is important as you said...but if you can do a few things to enhance the experiencee, then go for it -- and have a rolling good time too :)

Very well said, excellent post. I totally agree. You've articulated something I've always thought.
