Hey DJ Pete, im currently using a YAMAHA PSR-730 as my contoller, but im looking for a new one, to use wiv Reason, fruity, Cubase etc. The latency between Cubase, and my midi contoller is not very good, so I hope to get a Audigy wich has improved ASIO drivers..
What setup do u recommend for a amateur producer, to make decent productions????

well the gear that you have there is great for a amateur apart from
Cubase, if you were to start adding some hardware Synths with Cubase
thats getting into the Pro setup
a good midi contoller would be the Kenton Control Freak or the
Phat Boy

eventually I'm gonna start adding hardware and stuff...
would it be bad to invest in a Korg Karma? being that i'm a beginner...
btw I dont know how to play the piano... |

them two Evolution midi keboards have some software
bundle
so you can learn
it says
"Music Teacher comes complete with a range of lessons to get you started. The teacher will show you the way, giving you the option of learning notes, rhythm or both and showing your mistakes. Like any teacher the Evolution Music Teacher will give you a score and comment on your performance. You can even choose which teacher you want - from Mr.Easy through to the very strict Mr.Guru! Learning to play the keyboard has never been so much fun!" |

Damn getting a rig like that takes a couple of decades and releases :D
Anyways, the korg karma is basically a korg triton with some more functions, personally I don't think it's that bad
Plus I'd like to add that not being able to play the piano (e.g. read notes n stuff) isn't a big deal. You'll still need keys becuz they are good for just tryin out melodies, chord patterns, or trying out sounds as you tweak them. I can't play the piano, but the keyboard is essential in my setup! |
