funny how they didn't make this very public either .. and they had to wait until they felt the competition breathing down their back before they'd up the ante too .. scoundrels

heh .. looks like everyone else was already going ahead with it before MS was forced to jump the gun ..

.Mac gets increased storage
09/30/2004 08:22 | By Kristie Masuda
Apple on Wednesday increased the amount of online storage to .Mac members. The combined storage for .Mac mail and iDisk has been increased to 250 MB, from the previous limit of 100 MB for iDisk storage and 15 MB of e-mail storage. Members can also send larger messages with the maximum email limit size now being 10 MB. In other improvements, .Mac e-mail has also added support for account aliases, an online spell checker and customizable dictionary with multi language support.

There's a new prog out (don't remember the name) that lets you link the storage of as many gmail accounts together as you want.

1 account - 1GB
2 -> 2GB
etc.

Just logged into check whether It was a hoax and to my surprise I do have a 250 megs account -- one never knows with MS -- :)...very nice indeed...I personally feel that this might turn the tables in hotmail's favour abit as it's now giving a considerable amount of email space to it's users plus providing the ever popular & addictive msn messenger service at the same time...who wants to manage 2-3 email accounts at the same time anyways mayit be gmail or yahoo...

Space or no space, I'm really digging the interface for gmail.... archived conversations as opposed to single mails just taking up pages and pages...
makes sense

my question: how does making a free service better make hotmail "cheap bastards?"

dude, they have lots of comercials on it = not really free

but yeah i was kinda thinking the same lol... :p

I pay for television, yet there are commercials on that.
and those "commercials" are banner ads and pop up ads(but not the bad kind that regenerate a billion other windows), that you can chose to ignore (in fact, I dont even know there are ads) and still use the service completly fine.
